Someone who is dressing like an 80's hair band in the year 2011 (and it's not a joke), that person is not a rockstar.

True rockstars are original, different, and they certainly stand out for being original, not copying what people have done in the past.

The answer is - there are none.

Have a guy like Adam Lambert front Shinedown, then call me. He's the only guy that i've seen that has that rockstar-vibe.

He just can't catch a real fire of popularity.

Adam Lambert?  Give me a fuckin break.

Lady Gaga's the closest thing this generation has to a "rockstar."  No rock bands have any really stand out people.

As someone that has and still does hire people for a living, I can tell you that being out of work that long is a huge red flag. Not saying I wouldn't talk to them, but there better be a reason beyond the economy is bad for it.

Glad you can see the reason behind this article.

People are going to be outraged over this.  It made it front page on my local newspaper.  Most people will just see is as businesses being mean and trying to keep them down.  It'll give people a reason to not look for work again.

My dad was unemployed for 6 months.  Sat around and drank beer.  Didn't look for work.  A lot of people do that.  It's a signaling device to potential employers.  You're better off finding some kind of part time work somewhere versus not working at all.  Unfortunately, you usually make more off of unemployment versus part time work.

Matt Cameron said on Pearl Jam Radio that Soundgarden have been writing new songs since December and that they will start recording early next month.  He said the process has been great so far.  He also said the following about Soundgarden:

-Writing songs for both Pearl Jam and Soundgarden, hinted that Soundgarden are working around Pearl Jam’s schedule.  Seemed to hint that he’ll be able to juggle playing live with both bands later this year.

-Gave a vague answer to a question regarding Soundgarden/Temple of the Dog happening at Pearl Jam’s 20th Anniversary Bash. He didn’t rule it out.  There were tons of jokes and hints about it happening.

-Said Superunknown was when he was peaking as a drummer

seatut73 (who works for the well respected Easy Street Records in Seattle which hosted a Pearl Jam Backspacer release party in 2009) posted the following on the PearlJam.com forums regarding new Soundgarden material:

got to hear 2 new songs a few weeks ago…one was very VERY rocking…the other had Ben singing on it, sounded a lot like a Mark Lanegan tune (which is good)…will be interesting to see what else they come up with…

Do you already have tickets James?

I tried to get tickets for the Seattle show.  There were no tickets sold to the public.

Our Goal For 2011- Let’s Make A Record!

Over the past few months, we’ve been busy jamming, writing and hanging out together – exploring the creative aspect of being Soundgarden. It feels great. We have some cool new songs that we are going to record very soon. Thank you for all of the support!

Loudest of Love,

Ben, Chris , Kim and Matt

He won't leave Shinedown.  He's in an Axl position.  He can handpick the members of Shinedown and fire them as he sees fit.  It's his band.

I'm calling bullshit. For all we know they are just rehearsing or fucking around.

Plus all of the "announced" stuff out there right now suggests nothing is really happening. I wonder if it's gonna be a more SG - "the band" - written effort than Cornell-dominant.

I really don't see why Cornell would buy an apartment and move his family to Seattle from France if this was just "fucking around."
