I like the Dead Horse video. It was fun, nothing earth-shattering. Same here. I liked it. I also thought it was funny seeing Lars lying in the chair, holding the garbage can to his face, because he was so shitfaced.

Yeah, I don't see how this is any different than the "Dead Horse" video, really.  That was a live footage video, too.  The only difference is that this video doesn't have the Axl-cam footage.

Some really cool live footage in that video.  The ending with Lars was funny as shit.

I hope the bands creativity for these shows extends further than the venue/promoter who just seem to be slapping the same image everywhere - doors, walls, taxis, tshirts etc

I'm just pleased to see a picture of the current band is being used with their names.

FYI, it's looking like GN'R may play both days.  At least, according to Ticketmaster.  I haven't seen any official confirmation from the GN'R camp on that.

If GN'R plays both days, I will be there at both the 20 and 21st of October shows.

Ali

Right on! Remind me a couple days in advance and I'll get you my number for updates and pics.

Will do 22

FYI, I just called the venue (Shoreline Amphitheatre) and they said GN'R is playing both days.

I don't expect anything to necessarily be different, but I think this will likely be the only opportunity I get to see an acoustic GN'R show so I might as well see it twice.

Very nice. When the gig draws near, I can shoot you my cell number if you'd like to text updates and/or pictures to me and I can relay them to the board.

That sounds great to me.

FYI, everyone, this is in essentially in the heart of Silicon Valley and the venue is within walking distance of at least one of the main Google campuses.

It's about 45 minutes south of San Francisco and also north of San Jose.

Although this article stated it correctly as being in Mountain View, other articles have incorrectly stated the location of the venue.

Also, as a Bay Area resident, I can state with a good amount of confidence that this show is one of the most anticipated and respected shows in the Bay Area on a yearly basis along with perhaps Outside Lands.

Anyway, just some background there smile

How this festival occurs? Bands play their full set or like in farm aid only a couple of songs?

It's usually a shorter set and generally acoustic/stripped down.  I saw Smashing Pumpkins play an acoustic set there.

That is fucking fantastic that they used such a huge band picture with the band members names on it.  I'm glad to see they are taking advantage of a golden opportunity to market/brand the band.

I'm not ignoring your point, I just don't believe it counts.

If AV can go to court with this license agreement they clam they have from GNR Music then I think Axl is beat, he is taking the wrong people to court. The overarching rule of law is that either of the three men can license without asking the other two for permission.

If a song went out without an internal agreement between the three being honored then that's the fault of teh legal guardians of GNR Music's catalogue and not AV.

PS: I believe WTTJ was blocked because it was a version the new band recorded and they legally have to to ask permission of the original authors if they could release it as a cover.
The answer was no.

Releaseing another writers song is not the same as song owners issuing non-exclusive licenses.

Not believing it counts is ignoring it, IMO, and ignoring it incorrectly.  A written contract/agreement CAN supersede other laws/civil codes.

And, again, the issue is not whether or not the song license was granted without the agreement of Slash, Duff and Axl.  The issue is whether or not the license was granted on certain pre-conditions which were subsequently violated.
