Back at the beginning, I posted that anyone was welcome to PM me if they had any issues with insults flying that I hadn't seen. So if Bono and/or buzz or anyone else had a problem with the way the thread is or isn't being moderated, they could have PM'd me at any point.
Either way, Neemo has been keeping an eye on it and saw no reason to ban anyone. He's been at the moderating game a lot longer than me and he's great at it. It appears to me that his laying low is being mistaken for being "afraid".
Don't get me wrong...I don't care. Bono can say whatever idiotic things he wants to say and it won't bother me personally. It's been years since I reported anybody and if I remember correctly that was for a completely uncalled for personal attack. I don't really care what people say.
But anyone that has been reading this thread can't say there haven't been insults flung out there, and most of them aimed at the US and anyone supporting the idea that we should have the right to decide our own rules and/or things that work other places don't work here. This thread has basically been the world slinging insults at the US, and bono just took it to the point that I was sick of his shit and gave him exactly what he deserved. At least most of the other posters were trying to have a discussion; bono was just being an asshole, so I called him on it.
He then went into is typical poor me, everybody's picking on me shit instead of accepting any responsibility for his words. Then he went to give negative karma (like he always does when anyone dares to disagree with him) and I expect him to give me more negative karma when he sees I responded to his...it's always the same cycle with bono. Then a little more poor me followed by a rant against society in general for shitting on him.
Blah Blah Blah Buzz. first time back in this thread and it will be my last. I feel sorry for you Buzz. Only an idiot would think the negative karma was based on difference of opinion. Click your karma man and you'll see exactly what post you got it for. Pretty clear why you got it. The fact you tried to pass it off as me giving it to you for a difference of opinion is so pathetic and weak.

Good to know. There's a place I would support starting then...
Holy shit would you look at that! Both of you! Gee maybe the non Americans actually do know what they are talking about and are making valid points. Your culture isn't set in stone kids. You can take steps to begin to change it. But then again I'm not American so I'm not smart enough to comment. Carry on.

Like I said last year the only way it would have worked for Taker to lose was vs Triple H with the help of HBK. 19-1 The legacy of that is much better than 20-1 with a loss to a new era guy. First of all he'd be losing to an all time classic guy in HHH(duo DX), given there was interference from HBK it wouldn't be as though the record was "tainted" at the same time it adds to the legacy of DX and in the end all is good. Also it adds to HBK & HHH volatile relationship as it would be once again HBK stealing the spotlight for himself. Also it could've led to one more Wrestlemania match with Taker vs HBK & HHH in a handicap match for Taker to get the 20th win if they in fact wanted him to get to 20. AWESOME! It would've been epic.
there's no fucking way Taker should lose now. Not ever. It would be so forced it's not even funny. And especially not to anyone from the new era win. Not Punk, not Lesnar not anybody. In fact Taker should retire. There isn't anyone worthy of passing the torch to. At least not anyone worthy of having it passed in such a way like beating Taker at Wrestlemania where he's never lost. Having him lose now would just be a shitty, shitty idea.

Bono - fuck off. Seriously. You've been nothing but a mega dick in this whole thread and you still are. Be glad I'm not a mod or you'd be gone again.
Great point.
Prime example of the double standard on this board. Had I posted that I'd have been banned. Hilarious. If you were a mod I'd be gone? Wow. Get righteous dude! You're a joke.

Such nonsense on your part.
It's amazing, you've totally ignored our solutions, and we've never said things can't be done except for the things that literally can't be done, like banning guns. It's like we never even spent the time to actually type out the solutions to have a civil discussion, even in the post directly above yours. When you actually read a post then maybe you can be taken seriously. I tried to take you seriously, respond to you, but this is the result. Have fun with your "won't read" attitude.
Monkey - Thanks for taking one sentence out of that entire post and spinning it. I know you have aboslutely nothing to add to this discussion outside your own opinion and your disrespectful barbs here and there about my country. Thanks.
It's amazing Buzz, we type the solutions out, no one reads it... or wants to. We talk about the guns in circulation, it's ignored. REPEATEDLY. Not one "American expert" in this thread has answered it one time. Not once. Like this problem doesn't even exist.
I guess we know nothing about our own country. We're taking the "expert" opinions of people who have no answers but a whole lot of opinions. I'm so glad I'm surrounded by experts on America -- because some happen to live right above us, but still have no idea about our political, judicial and regional differences. Not to mention, egads, our cultural differences. This all about them being right, us being wrong. Even when we're not disagreeing.
Thread dropped. Have at it. When I'm trying to find common ground and give facts ABOUT MY OWN COUNTRY THAT I FUCKING KNOW with "REAL" solutions to help solve it and not only is it ignored but I'm disrespected in the process... Have fun.
You're not trying to find common ground. You simply want to be right and dismiss everything everyone else on the planet has figured out. You have such an arrogance it's unbelievable. Disrespected? Gimme a break. You go on and on about people not reading your posts because you think your solutions have been ignored. Nobody has disregarded the "solutions" you have suggested. We've simply stated a fact that gun control needs to be looked at as well as mental illness. You go on and on about how we just don't get it, we have no clue what's going on in America. All this conversation has done is open my eyes to how in the dark you are when it comes to Canada's day to day bombardment of Americana. Seriously dude Canada is on your fucking doorstep. You need to go through us to get to Alaska. So really we're like the 2nd floor in the same apartment building. We are not blind or ignorant to your situation or the problems or hurdles you face. Far from it. To suggest we are shows your ignorance on our proximity to one and other. 90% of Canadians live within a few hours drive of the US/Canada border so this idea that we couldn't begin to understand is flat out asinine.
Then when Buzz finally acknowledges the FACT that gun control can help long term he says "I'm not sure we want to go through everything else that would happen in those 100 years to get there though." As though the United States is gonna turn into some scene from the Dark Knight Rises. Seriously?
If you begin to make changes now eventually the culture will change. It's common sense. You could never begin to make changes though because it's in your constitution to defend yourselves. Such bullshit. If Americans as whole demanded a whole sale change when it comes to gun control you'd begin to see change. But nope can't do that cause you, unlike the rest of the world, have the right to defend yourself and you just have too many guns and we can't let the bad guys take over. Ummm... all the more reason to make change! Your situation is serious and you guys need to take a hard stand but you do the exact opposite. You become more relaxed, more careless and more ignorant to you own problem. Anyways. Nothing will ever change in America and it's because of too many people who share this attitude that it's hopeless. You feel disrespected ID? You actually disrespect yourself by burying your head in the sand.
Anyways... I've had enough of this as well.

Just bolding the irony. lol
there's is no irony there. It's a simple fact that Canadians learn more about the United States than you guys learn about us. And I'd be willing to bet everything I own that I have a better grasp on American culture than ID has on Canadian culture. It's also a flat our ridiculous statement to suggest that as a Canadian I can't understand how America works because it's oh so foreign. Gimme a break. As Canadians we are bombarded with your culture every single day. EVERY SINGLE DAY in mass amounts.
And when the world has put certain measures into place that are working and you brush it off as "nah wouldn't work for us cause we're so different and better off for it" THAT is ignorance and arrogance personified. Clearly your situation with gun violence is NOT better off than the rest of us so what are you going on about saying you're different and better off for it. Such an absurd comment on your part.
What you guys fail to understand or simply refuse to understand is this. Those of us advocating for tougher gun laws and even banning certain models are not dismissing that mental illness is a major issue that needs to be dealt with. Sadly mental illness isn't something tangible that you can fix instantly or even have a significant impact on. There is nothing you can do today that can have a major impact tomorrow. It's a huge black cloud of uncertainty and it's gonna take a lot longer than any of us have on this earth to solve the issue of mental illness, especially from people who are not being treated or often times show no outward signs. It doesn't mean you/we should dismiss it it just means it's only part of the problem.
Gun control is another part of the problem and is tangible and you can take steps today that will start having an impact tomorrow. BAN military grade weapons. There is no need for them. NOBODY needs an assault weapon that can spray hundreds of bullets per minute. It's beyond reason why those are even legal. Put measures into place regarding proper storage of weapons, proper licensing, waiting periods, registration, back ground checks etc etc etc. All of it. Enforce it. People caught with weapons need to be fined heavily and in certain cases jailed.(yeah I know the court systems suck), Not a slap on the wrist. The problem will not be solved tomorrow or next month or even next year but you put in place numerous steps to begin changing your gun culture. And if people don't like it too fucking bad. It's 2012 not 1789. Get over your outdated right to bar arms. Eventually people will become accustomed to it and it won't be a big deal. But to sit back and say nothing can be done, nothing will change, etc is just stupid. Of course nothing will change with that attitude other than get worse, but when you start making changes things change. Imagine that.
I mean my god yeah Americans have a lot of guns so instead of throwing your arms up and saying it's hopeless do something about it. But no the second someone suggests that, you feel your rights and freedoms are being infringed upon. I can only speak for myself but I feel pretty damn free in Canada. My civil rights seem to be intact despite our gun laws. Then again we're just some backwoods country with a population of roughly 4000 and what would we know about MERICA! Or civil rights for that matter.

You need to learn how to read. I gave solutions. Who's got the "dumb fucking attitude" now? And no, Canada and Australia do not understand (but I do appreciate the anti Americanism!).
Since we're giving links:
Here's one for Bono -
...............
How about those gun laws!
Yeah. I also love the people who get in car crashes and live and weren't wearing their seat belt. Then they go on telling others how not wearing the seat belt saved their lives and if more people didn't wear them there would be less car related deaths. Thanks for sharing your narrow mindedness with us ID. After reading those articles my only conclusion can be that I need to go get me an assault rifle to protect my family. Unreal. Did you know there are three hunting rifles in my basement right now ID? I bet you didn't know that. I'm not anti gun, I'm anti stupid.
I'd bet everything I own on the fact I know way more about your culture than you do Canada's. Only a complete idiot would sit there and say Canadians are blind to the situation in America and just couldn't relate or have any understanding about what's happening. It'll only be a matter of time before some unbalanced, over stressed teachers start using guns to threaten students and then inevitably one will overreact and shoot a student. Guaranteed.
Welcome to the wild west. Yee haw!
#249 Re: The Garden » Elementary School Shooting in US » 708 weeks ago
Buzz has never said anything about not having gun laws. Pass them. We both just know it will have no effect. We've had them. Again, the answer is a lot more complex than the broad, non-specific "it needs to start somehwere" and my favorite "Your culture is fucked up" coming from people who literally have no understanding of it and continue to throw generalities out there, because A) they have no real answer on how to deal with "our " problem and B) no understanding of that problem.
This isn't doom and gloom, I gave several solutions, you guys refused to hear it because it didn't include banning guns, which is an impossibility.
Holy fuck. Then start nowhere. Great solution. What a dumb fucking attitude. Both your guys's arrogance is coming through in spades. the fact you think that me, a Canadian , who has lived on your doorstep for 34 years has zero comprehension of your culture speaks volumes to your level of arrogance and ignorance.
America: land of the free(yeah right) and home of the brave(only if you have a gun)
I don't have a problem with gun laws other than they won't work.
That's because in your mind you think short term. You don't look at a long term solution. Gun laws work in other countries but god forbid the Americans try something. Too smart and too proud to follow the lead of other countries. Always gotta be the trail blazers. Guns laws, and restrictions would work given time. To suggest they couldn't spits in the face of every other country that has shown they do work. Brings me back to the whole point about starting somewhere (oh but that's too general for ID to comprehend) and wanting to make the change in culture. Sadly I think Axlin is right. Your country simply doesn't want to make a change. You're too busy thumping your chest and being "right"
#250 Re: The Garden » Elementary School Shooting in US » 708 weeks ago
There are millions of guns already here bono. That fact trumps whatever situation you can come up with from somewhere else. No law is going to change that. Millions of guns that the bad guys aren't giving up and many of the legal gun owners aren't giving up.
Round and round we go. Until you understand that, you just make yourself look stupid. Normally I wouldn't be that blunt, but if you're going to call me a six year old for understanding how things are in my country, I'm going to call you stupid for continuing to not understand how things are.
I fully understand that. What you don't seem to understand is that it needs to start somewhere and if you don't even bother to start than ya might as well nuke yourselves cause it's only gonna get worse. It took 200 years to create this culture but 200 years in the grand scheme of things is nothing so why would you let 200 years decide your fate for eternity?
Your thought process is a defeatist attitude and yes you come off like a scared little six year old kid the more you go on and on with this bullshit idea that more guns equals more safety. you also come off no different than the "cool kid" in high school who thinks everyone idolizes them when the reality is everyone is looking at you thinking WTF.
I live in Canada. Right next door dude. I've also been all over the United States from Alaska to Texas and everywhere in between. America isn't some big mystery you pretend it is. You act as if we're all clueless to you guys. Wake up dude. Stop with the bullshit that we could never understand. We get it. You have a fucked up culture when it comes to guns. What we don't get is your relaxed attitude towards fixing the problem and your complete lack of common sense on the topic that nothing can ever be done. The only one looking stupid is you because in your mind there is no possible way the solution could ever be fixed and in your arrogance you refuse to acknowledge what the rest of the world knows. You think we're all so stupid as to think the problem can be fixed tomorrow but that's not at all the case. Nobody thinks the problem can be fixed instantly but if you never take steps to fix the problem things only get worse. America's problem is attitude's like your's. A defeatist attitude that the bad guys have already won so if ya can't beat'em join'em. That's is such an awful attitude.
Whatever. It's like talking to an arrogant wall.
