did youi read the book? Slash makes it clear that the musical diferences thing is bullshit he goes into alot of depth about "musical differences"
no and i don't need to. you are telling me what is in it. and what you are telling me is that slash is saying something that contradicts what he has said in interviews. and, yes, he has been dishonest in the past. it is quite simple. you have to take what he says with a grain of salt like bigbri said.

slash said he quit due to musical differences with axl back when axl was into the techno phase. war wrote:first of all, you can't compare axl to mick wall cause he is an original member and the most significant of all of them.
highly debatable but whatever...lets leave this alone I'd prefer not to travel that path again please
war wrote:second, you don't have to release an album to sell music. when you go to a gnr show you are buyng live music, including madagascar and the blues. so, again, you cannot compare mick wall and what he does to the "hired guns" there
I think what buzzsaw (and others are saying) is that Frank hasnt done anything to warrant the fact that he can use the GnR name to promote his crappy band...yeah he played a few live shows....but then again so did Fred Coury of Cinderella ...can he claim to be a former GnR Drummer? i dont think so
war wrote:third, even if we call them a cover band, they still exist with or without mick wall where as the opposite is not true.
Well mick wall certainly has a career outside of GnR..not saying i like the guy or anything but GnR called him out huge on a song on a very high selling album...he's known as a dickhead reporter to a large portion of the world cuz of GITR...its just karma's a bitch right? Wall did some embellishing on a GnR article...Axl fired back and now mick is in the driver seat for the "battle" pretty childish IMO
i don't know how to sperate the quotes like that....
1. we can leave it alone then.
2. i was reposnding to what buzzsaw said about entire gnr and axl. nothing about just frank
3. mick wall can exist without gnr, yes. what i meant was he cannot exist without bands like gnr which is why people call journalists like him a leech when they don't like him. bands like gnr, on the other hand, would still endure without people like mick wall. not that i don't think journalists are important people - i just do not think they are as important or comparable to the artists they write about. i am into the music not the personal stuff they write about or any opinions they or anyone else may have. i do not listen to reviews before i watch a movie and i do not buy people magazine or kerrang, etc.

war wrote:buzzsaw wrote:Why not? Isn't that exactly what the entire GnR camp is doing?
there is a huge difference. one relies on the other's success in order to use the name for his own, whether it's truthful or not, good or bad (mick wall). and the other is self sufficient (the entire gnr camp).
mick wall is selling gnr. gnr is selling itself.
Until they release their own music, new GnR is selling the old band. Same thing in my book...living off of someone else's accomplishments.
thank you jonathanvondoom
i agree that it is n interesting comparison but it is still comparing apples to oranges
first of all, you can't compare axl to mick wall cause he is an original member and the most significant of all of them. second, you don't have to release an album to sell music. when you go to a gnr show you are buyng live music, including madagascar and the blues. so, again, you cannot compare mick wall and what he does to the "hired guns" there. third, even if we call them a cover band, they still exist with or without mick wall where as the opposite is not true.

#2406 Re: Guns N' Roses » GnR @ RIR 2008? » 904 weeks ago
this could be really good news. with other bands it would be. if the album/money/marketing details or negotiations were going so poorly that '08 was out of the question for cd there would be no reason for them not to do RocknRio.
if it looks like the ablum is gonna come out in the forseeable future they will soon be touring the world through the summer festivals in '09 anyways.
on the other hand ........................ need i say more?
#2407 Re: Guns N' Roses » Dizzy and Jizzy tour.....more Tour Dates » 904 weeks ago
This dizzy and jizzy tour ends in less than 2 months. If a deal was made today on the album and the events were finally set in motion for a summer release would axl really need dizzy right now? I don't think so. We already know that the promo would be 2 months worth atleast. I think some of you put too much stock into axl's hired guns touring for small bits at a time. Kinda like what james said, the fact that we haven't heard anything yet about album or tour is really what is concerning me. it looks like we are in for more waiting. which is fine, i think. the album has taken how long. please do it right and release it at an advantageous time.

#2409 Re: Guns N' Roses » Fender Signed By Axl, Up For Sale on Ebay » 908 weeks ago
the guy probably had a guitar sitting around the house and brought it to the event that axl was doing autographs at to get it signed. no need to go spend a lot of money on a really nice guitar just for that and he already had a crappy one sitting around so he was good to go. and now he is trying to make a profit off of it. although i have also seen that picture before.
#2410 Re: Guns N' Roses » HMV says "CD not a scheduled release this year" » 909 weeks ago
i agree that his is an unreliable source but....
if it is true about the communication between hmv and universal/geffen
one theory i can think of is that chinese democracy is no longer the name of the album and/or the product has changed whether it be as simple as a different title or a double disc type thing.
nothing but a theory based on no info
