i think cause of the quantity of songs that are confirmed to be done and the fact that "quality" is subjective and everyone has their own individual preferences in music, there will be plenty of songs for all of us to enjoy if they release more than one disc.
if they release a 13 track cd only with all of the leaks, for me, i will be a little disspointed at first cause i have already worn out the leaks but i am certain they will be so much better to listen in there final form. if you notice, these songs had already changed significantly in there live '06 versions from the demo form. studio versions will be another notch perfected by the band and will kick ass if they are not overproduced, that is. which is my main concern right now. "overproduced" is a term many have thrown here on the forums and by some writers that have heard tracks and is on the minds of axl and the gnr camp as we know they read the forums. That is a part of why he gives us leaks and plays the cd at strip clubs, i believe; to gauge the reactions.
AXL will not release a crappy cd at this point. That's a part of what is taking so long. We know this much is true - just gotta remember some time.

that's kind of what i was thinking - that he got a tv gig of some kind.

Something I tried to post here last night:
After a bit more digging, I find that whoever owns it registered the site through a proxy. So that really doesn't prove it doesn't belong to the band. Fishing through the internet archive, I see that between October 2006 and April 2007, the site redirected to gunsnroses.com. Before that it caused a lot of confusion at various sites when we were all anticipating a new website launch... Now it looks like GNR could own it... otherwise the band could sue and have all the content removed for breach of copyright.
good job man!
"and the mystery takes another turn"

it's been so long since i settled down to just a few gnr websites so i do not remember from my site searching days if this site was around back then.
never the less........
It's newly decorated and henceforth different than gunsnroses.com but it appears to be the same exact everything as to when gunsnroses.com was more utilized. the store that this site links to is at the same address as well.
my questions are these:
Is this site official?
and, if so:
Is this a new official website?
or
Is this a slightly updated official website?

I'm in a positive mood this morning, so maybe he overplayed it because he liked it so much and now he's sick of it? Not plausible, but possible.
he he - i was thinking the same thing yesterday. he never said it sucked, just that he couldn't get past the first two songs.
it's possible he meant that he loved the first two so much that he kept listening to them.
but not likely what he meant.

He didn't leak Libertad.
I meant leaked by others along the way. You probably disagree but I really think Chinese Democracy is at a significantly higher risk of leaking than Libertad and if someone like this guy, who isn't in the gnr family or isn't an exec at the record company, was given access to a finished cd it would quickly be leaked by someone else before or after he got it.

war wrote:he said in an interview a while back, befiore the book came out that he left due to musical differences.
this is a contradiction to what he is saying in his book, according to your quotes.
your skills are still amazing though, don't get me wrong:haha:
not denying what you said....you're right...he did say that...its official....but in his book...he didn't contradict himself....he merely said that if axl was easier to deal with....he would have done things he doesn't like doing....such as an industrial sound....
he never implied or said that he all of a sudden likes the new gnr sound, or that he was all for it.....on the contrary in fact....
that's why i dont see it as a contradiction.....but...each to their own i suppose...
oh ok, then i misunderstand what you were saying. how much is the book by the way? probably too much for me. i am just not all that interested.

I don't understand why people are acting shocked that an album has been listened to. Axl played the album at parties and strip clubs for two years. You don't think someone with connections in the industry was able to have a listen?? Gimme a break. Its not the holy grail to the billions of people outside these forums.
For all we know its the album that should've been released in 02.
I believe Halfin simply because listening to an album isn't parting the Red Sea and if there is even a full album's worth of songs in existence(and we know there is), then people are going to hear it.
GNR fans need to come back down to earth. Months before Kala even had a release date there were various media peeps who got a hold of a copy of the album and previewed it. Her fans weren't shocked or in denial because its just an album. No one thought it was lies. It didn't leak then either(took about 3 months for that to finally happen).
As already mentioned, only a few thousand people care about this. CNN could announce as breaking news that Ross Halfin heard CD and the world would yawn while a few thousand people drooled over their keyboards.
As far as Halfin not liking the material, thats his opinion. He's entitled to it. Halfin cant get past two tracks? Well I know I can at least make it through eight tracks.
well, i can't speak for anyone other than myself. i just don't believe this guy cause he contradcits himself on a regular basis. i agree with you that others have heard it, though.
plus, if this guy had it it would have leaked by now
