So no one else is slightly concerned about Gnr possibly selling out to a soft drink company? Not exactly how I would have promoted it....:ummm:
personally, i could care less how they promote it. actually, that is not true, i don't care how they promote it as long as they do it so it can be a successful album. if the album is quality i am happy with it being a success.

The "next few days" thing is making me worried that this is some sort of April Fools thing though.
if it was an april fool's joke axl would know.....................
if he is not involved with this his people would have contacted dr pepper to see wtf was going on before he posted on his website, expressing his pleasure with their support. i don't think axl would set himself up for that kind of embarrassment.

It also made it to the website and from Axl mouth that 2006 was the year, I'll believe it when I see it.
Not to poo poo on anyones parade but lets face it, we've heard it from Axl before.
i agree that we should not get our hopes up too much just yet but this is different.
you are comparing "finishing touches" and "a tentative release date" to an alledged promotional campaign for an album that has been confirmed complete by atleast three band sources.

if it was promotion in the making, the "try to get a band to release an album" as you put it would be just a creative angle and an agreement between the band/record label and dr pepper would already be made and the release date would already be decided upon. dr pepper wouldn't promote chinese democracy for free and without consent and use chinsee democracy to promote itself unless it was coming out finally and there was a a contract.
that was an excellent post and karma for that....................i still think this is the case. '08 is the year ladies and gentlemen.

somone here should call the number and verify. there are a lot of people now claiming to have called dr pepper and gotten verification that this is legit.

BBF isn't going to announce a release date, we all know that. I love BBf's music so to me, I could care less that he doesn't talk about GNR.
I agree but the question will come up and if the album's release is near we may be able to pick up on it by the way he avoids the question by listening to his choice of words and his demeanor.
