#2291 Re: Guns N' Roses » Rumor - Izzy replacing Robin » 897 weeks ago
that would be awesome!
his writing abilities are what would be nice for the future releases.
however, this only has steam at the moment because of how cool it would be, robin is with nin, and that axl and izzy toured together in '06.

Shouldn't Mysteron's latest comments have it's own thread?
It's not THAT big of a deal, but it's kind of hidden in this one...
Any thread started by war can fascilitate any and all topics or subject matters.
Stop trying to sabotage my threads!!!!!!!!!!

Backslash wrote:b'ys, I'm available to tour Brazil, pick me!!
There are two possibilities:
1. They've got a replacement lined up.
2. They planned these gigs before they knew Robin was leaving... now they have to cancel.I'm hoping it's number 1, but I fear it's more likely number 2.
Expect this update in the near future if this tour is for real

Guns N' Roses Not Able to Perform in Brazil
Tuesday May 30, 6:00 am ET
A Message from W. Axl RoseSão Paulo, Brazil--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 30, 2008--Guns N' Roses will not be performing as scheduled in Brazil.
The band has been put in an untenable position by guitarist Robin Finck and his untimely departure. During his tenure with the band Robin has been inconsistent and erratic in both his behavior and commitment - despite being under contract - creating uncertainty and confusion and making it virtually impossible to move forward with recording, rehearsals and live plans with confidence. His transient lifestyle has made it impossible for even his closest friends to have nearly any form of communication with him whatsoever. Last time I talked to Robin, he called to tell me he had bought a bootleg DVD off EBay and how proud he was to be in Guns and how impressed he was with everyone's performance. Then, in April we got word from Tommy that Robin had called him and said he was back in Guns!? Apparently, according to Robin he had been "Gone" but had turned himself around and was really excited to do a Brazilian tour. Somewhere in the following month things changed once again. According to those who have actually spoken with Mr. Finck it appears his plans were to Re-Join Nine Inch Nails, quit GN'R and to use his involvement in the upcoming Guns release to immediately promote Trent Reznor's efforts...Nice guy!
There is not a member of this camp that is not hurt, upset and ultimately disappointed by this event, and more to the point - if not this individual, certainly this individual's choices. Regardless of anyone's opinions of me and what I may or may not deserve, clearly the fans, individuals in this band, management, crew and our support group do not deserve this type of treatment. We as a whole, definitely feel that we afforded Robin every accommodation perhaps so much so that it may be that we or more precisely, I may have done Guns a disservice and unintentionally allowed Guns to be put in this position.
On behalf of Guns N' Roses and myself I apologize to the fans who planned to see us in Brazil. The country and its tradition mean a lot to me personally and I sincerely do not enjoy being robbed by one of our own of the opportunity to be the first artist to play there for the first time since 2001. I would also like to express my gratitude to those who chose to embrace Robin's role in Guns and support our new line up. We greatly appreciate Robin's contributions and remain open to "discussions" as there are obviously several issues to resolve. In the meantime rather than dwelling on the negative, Guns will be moving forward and surprisingly (without giving away any details) this unfortunate set of circumstances may have given us the opportunity to take our recording that one extra step further. Regardless we hope to announce a release date within the next few months.
Sincerely,
W. Axl Rose
LOL!!!!!!!! AH HA HA HA
#2295 Re: Guns N' Roses » A win - win situation for Axl? » 897 weeks ago
sometimes i wonder if axl has gotten too used to being outside of public eye and that we wont see him in a public capacity for any long period of time...
maybe Axl doesnt wanna tour CD and thats why robin left for NIN
that's an intersting theory - karma for that.
he has said he doesn't like touring in the past and what are the motives for touring CD other than money? according to interviews from certain players he doesn't seem to like all the attention. that's if we believe what we hear - i sometimes wonder how someone clearly meant for the spotlight can dislike performing but if it's true maybe that is why he holds back. yes he will be judged specifically on the album and he will be judged heavily but no matter how good it is he will have to tour to promote it for it to be a success. it's possible he only wants to make his statement with this album, not necessarily to be huge again.

#2297 Re: Guns N' Roses » Del James comments on Robins status » 897 weeks ago
translation- Gnr ain't doing shit for awhile.....
i didn't translate it that way at all. mysteron said he doesn't think robin is gone for good and if album were to be aimed for release before his return he thinks finck would choose to come back (whether or not that is true is another debate). one thing i feel strongly about is that if the album is turned in to geffen, they willl release it when it most suitable for promotion and sales, not out of convenience for axl's revolving group of musicians. i like finck and do not mean any disrespect but, logistically speaking, i don't see his absence (permanent or temporary) changing anything. if the world knew who finck was it would be different because they would know what was missing on stage but cd's goal will be to attract new fans who will mostly be oblivious to the band's history - the rest will be wondering where slash and maybe buckethead are, not robin.
#2298 Re: The Garden » What are you eating? » 898 weeks ago
Just cooked myself a bacon sandwich and some cheese toast.
LOL!!!
This is the funniest and most random thread i have ever read.
I just ate a sandwich i recently invented much like a bacon sandwich.
i'll name it the 'Barbecued Bacon Melt
#2299 Re: Guns N' Roses » I wish someone would leak the damn thing... » 898 weeks ago
I think a leak is coming this year, possibly before Halloween.
why do you think that?
if a tv show really happens there could be one. especially if there is any rehearsals of the band playing unheard material.
#2300 Re: Guns N' Roses » My Current Theory » 898 weeks ago
Just seems like robin comming back for "limited engaments" while otherwise touring with NiN wouldn't create the impression of a cohesive full band like you'd think they'd want to for the release of CD.
The bucket back idea seems to be being brought up a lot. Is there any hint that bucket is back though or is it just that a lot of people seem to want it.
I don't think theres a reunion with the old line up happening either. Although Scott and Robin quitting at once is maybe God's way of telling Axl and Slash to stop kidding around
Another possible theory. Some say an album was turned in and rejected in 02. Maybe this album negotiation whatever it is, as been so hard to solve that axl has begun chaging the album again...and robin can't take re-starting it for the zillionth time....
I wish one side would give us an update...cos right now it could be anything...could be Axl wears Zebra socks and robin didn't like it when bumble said they were cooler than his spiderman boxers. We're forced to speculate.
it has been rumored for a while that he and brain would return upon release of the album. brain has never been confirmed to be out of gnr but as to be on a break. buckethead on the other hand, quit. i would say brain may still be under some sort of agreement to return but i would be surprised if buckethead is or has been. but that doesn't rule out axl bringing him back in time of need i.e. if finck doesn't come back.
