Don't think I've ever heard the DOT version?
Would it be fair to say the GNR covers of KOHD and LALD are now nearly the definitive versions of those songs. I know KOHD has been covered a million times but it's always the GNR version you hear played on things and replicated. Even more so with LALD.

You think Rio was down to him 'not trying'? The guy could barely keep in tune or hold a note. It was far more than that on the night, I'd guess he was sick but we'll probably never know.
Also think due to it's GNR history people over estimate the significance of RIR. Aside from being pro shot it doesn't really make a ripple to the wider world. It certainly aint Coachella/Glastonbury level.

From a few clips of last nights Sau Paulo show they sounded much better on all fronts.

Saw It at the weekend. Enjoyed it, not read the books or seen the previous version so had a fairly open mind. Pennywise was genuinely creepy and some surprisingly funny moments from the kids as well.

I think the Skin and Bones leg of the UYI tour was a similar idea. Stripped back and more deep cuts. However for the type of tour this is I'm not sure it's really suited. I say that in the sense that none of us really know what this tour is, a comeback, a one off, a goodbye? Not sure the band even knows yet so a GH plus well known deep cuts setlist makes most sense, covers most bases and pleases most people.

They had an off night all round I think, nothing more nothing less.
On the positive, they played a near 3hr 30 mins show which for a group of bored, resentful, money grabbing 50 somethings aint half bad.

Watched a few low quality vids and yeah it's pretty poor. There sounds to be errors across the board though, little mistakes and bad timing. There's mention of technical issues so I'm guessing that's played a part if they couldn't hear each other.
Axls voice sounds to be really struggling, even his go to clean voice of recent years is off and there's a real lack of power. I'm wondering if he's ill because it's way below the level of the last 18 months generally.
Don't know why they keep bothering with RIR it seems to be a doomed gig for GNR these days.

I heard that question asked on the radio yesterday. No idea of the credentials of the person who answered it but according to them a hurricane of Irmas magnitude is more powerful than a nuke anyway. All we would achieve by nuking a hurricane is producing a radioactive hurricane.

Axl invited him back because the con was starting to wear thin: He's coasted just having fun and pissing people off for 30 years based on what he did in 87-92, he's lived the life, but now his voice is finally starting to go for real and he's driven the fake band from Stadiums, to Arenas, to Theatre's.
So we limp on. When a bucket list item pops up for Axl - like Ac/Dc he does it, meanwhile just enjoy what's left...slash will play shows until he dies so he just goes with the flow...
Except the AC/DC tour was proof his voice hasn't gone. He gets more of a free pass(ish) from GNR fans so uses a voice that is less likely to strain and damage. He had to be on his A game for AC/DC so he used the classic raspy voice and it was still there and still sounded killer.
We can debate the merits of not using his A game voice for GNR shows but I would contest that his voice has 'gone'.

He looks awful.
