I'm surprised Night Of The Living Dead wasn't on more people's lists. It may not be the first zombie movie, but it certainly was the most influential and spawned a whole new sub-genre of horror movies. Dawn of The Dead, Day of the Dead, Return of the Living Dead, Fulci's Zombi, etc. Nearly every zombie movie out there follows the same basic pattern where a small group of survivors have to board up a house/mall/etc. and survive the night while wave after wave of zombies try to get in - which they eventually will.

I wish Hits Daily Double had reported what their source was. Is this actually confirmed through band (or Best Buy) management? Or are they just reporting more unconfirmed message board rumors & speculation? I want to believe, but I'm still skeptical until I hear it confirmed officially.

Personally, I think the demo version of Don't Cry is the best one, mainly because that's the one I heard first. I had a bootleg CD called the Rubmo Tapes that came out before UYI, and the version that was on there (which was the same one as was later on the DC single) was amazing. When I finally heard the album version, I fucking hated how they doubled up Axl's vocals with Shannon Hoon. And I never cared for the alt. lyrics version, either. Just my opinion, though.

Assuming this guy isn't just full of shit - here's a few other interesting things he's posted:
There is a studio version of Silkworms, it's one of the most intense and raw recorded songs on the album. It features a kick ass guitar riff and has really evovled since it was first introduced.
Brain is still in Guns N' Roses, Robin is on a temporary hiatus which was unexpected because many had looked foward to GnR to begin touring later this year, as far as what is known Robin will be continuing the Chinese Democracy Tour which has been scheduled for 2009.
Brain has openly stated he will not regroup with GnR until Chinese Democracy is released. So in essence he is still a member.
From 1982-1983 Axl Rose adopted Rob Halford's vocal style, it is visible in early demos such as The Prowler, All night long, Ready To Rumble, On The Run, and Closure

There have been so many false starts and broken promises that any updates or announcement Axl made would be viewed with (at best) skepticism, and I think he knows this. So instead he just chooses to stay quiet until there really is something concrete, like Shackler's.
I mean, honestly, would anyone believe him if he posted an update saying "We were shooting for a Thanksgiving release, but business arrangements didn't work out and now we're planning for early 2009"? You know everyone would cry "bullshit!"
So while I agree that the lack of updates is frustrating, I can understand why they're being tight lipped.

I was all psyched to go out and buy RB2 this weekend, but then I found out that it's just the game-only version that's coming and now I'm going to have to wait until October to get the set with the new wireless drums and guitar.

I don't have isolated vocals, there's an ingame option that allows you to turn down the crowd track, guitar track, bass track, drum track, and ambient track. I turned all those down, turned up vocals and blasted it. Sounded awesome on a surround sound setup.
I bet someone will be able to take the separate tracks and make a killer remix. Maybe do a mashup with some NIN tracks.

Well, I sent him $5. I figure it's the least I could do seeing as how we're all enjoying the demos he put out there. Even if he does get exonerated, the legal fees will bankrupt him.

faldor wrote:Alright, I misunderstood you. But it's not anything like the Metallica case. Metallica wanted to prevent people from downloading music that they had already released. This is unreleased material that may not even be in its final stages, provided by a former employee of the record company. I agree they're making an example of the guy to prevent future leaks. That's different than making sure people can't download "Welcome to the Jungle".
It certainly isn't the same as the Metallica case, but they are similar. Another reason they aren't the same is because i don't think it was GNR gunning to get this guy arrested.
To be honest, i think the circumstances make this case a little more serious than Metallica's. Like you said, Universal is trying to protect their current investment, one that hasn't even had chance to make money yet.
The loophole, like James said, is it going to be released? If it's not planned to be released, the case is out.
Actually, it is quite similar. What prompted the whole Napster issue was when Lars found out that two or three unfinished rough mixes of "I Disappear" had leaked out several weeks before the Mission Impossible 2 soundtrack was released. And as much of a greedy dick as he is, I can understand how he wouldn't want people to form their opinions of their new song based on an incomplete version.
