Did you order like straight away when they went up? The vinyl went up at like $25 or $30 (can't remember which) and then an hour later was changed to $18, so probably got put on the store with an incorrect price.
I just looked on the site and the price is the same that I paid and I only bought 3 hours after the page went up.
Yea, I bought it within an hour of the Facebook link. I think it was $29.99 when I bought it and I see it’s now $17.99
Yeah, that's just them adjusting you down to the correct price after they put it up for an hour or two way too high.

My mind is blown that it's probably been a choice all this time. Most likely to save his voice during a tour but still.
At least makes me think he can deliver in a studio environment where he can have recovery time for his voice.

The drumming on the Hardschool demo blows away the drumming on Hard Skool. I am thinking they should have kept Freese/Brain on new one as well. They kept Brain on Absurd
Apart from the add of the cowbell for that classic feel (which goes well with Slash and Duff's additions) I agree. The drumming sounds like a tinny, tappy drum machine.

It's awesome they go all out but I've been saying it since I went to the show four years ago.... it's too long. The crowd doesn't really need that much... especially when you start diving into Chinese deep cuts.
It's why the cash grab stuff a tad harsh even with there being some truth to it....they could cut an hour out of the set and no one would complain.
I agree they should be able to gauge demand but the AFD boxset showed that is something they really can't do.
That was another clusterfuck. Fan interest or lack thereof wasn't a factor....it was that bat shit insane price tag.
No one but extreme hardcores would buy that...and only a handful of them.
They ruined their first box set....which sets the tone for the rest.
If Pink Floyd can't charge 1k for the Immersion sets, why in the fuck did they think they could get away with it? Those are incredible.
Look at Metallica's sets.... amazing and the amount of content above and beyond the call of duty.

Yeah, don't confuse my light defense of this as an endorsement. I wish it was a lot better.
I just don't necessarily think it's all that's happening. The return of Silkworms and them doing no pre-announcement drops of singles shows they are at least capable of doing digital releases out of the blue.
The delay seems like it's because they're taking orders first before putting the order into the printing and pressing plants. Should they work that way? Probably not but it seems like what they've chosen to do - their previous mistake with the AFD box making them overcorrect their approach.
If we end up in January with complete silence after the end of this tour then my hope for more anytime soon disappears. I still think they could surprise us in 6-8 weeks time.
And the Metallica boxset is great. Getting it soon as a present, looking forward to listening to the Moscow show on final.

Too big to quote all of it but if it were an album I'd agree with you James. I just think because it's a single they don't need to care about how long it takes to fulfil these orders and it doesn't really matter - they're just something small and niche for hardcores. In a way as fans who follow them everyday it's sort of like we get to single release days.

Like I've said elsewhere I wouldn't read too much into the late physical launch meaning other things can't happen in the meantime.

I pretty much lived in the all over print UYI tshirt from when I bought it 1992, until it slowly fell apart in 1995, after too many battles with the washing machine and the Australian sun!
Man, what a missed opportunity by TB to re-release it for the 30th anniversary. I’d buy all that stuff in a heartbeat, but not the new fugly shit they put up.

The like/dislike ratio is amazing. Best case scenario in that regard...and most of the comments appear to be positive.
It's still getting some media attention and performing it brought the spotlight on it again.
I don't like how they're calling it an EP. Technically yes...it's an EP...but come on.
When. I think EP I think Lies, Sap, Screaming Life, etc...
Not what is essentially a double A side and two live B sides.
If this is an EP, more than half of Soundgarden's singles were EPs.
I haven't seen the band call it an EP. Some press have, that debunked rumour probably muddied the waters. It's kind of annoying.
The band's press release just refers to it as a "song" and says the formats it can be bought on. If it was an EP, the vinyl would have the same tracklist.

The shipment date of the physical Hard Skool single isn't anything major, by that point promo on it is over and they're just finally fulfilling the orders.
It's like writing off the single while offering pre-orders.
By the time fans get the single, it's old news. Any casuals who order it will have forgotten about it by then.
Imagine any other band doing this. That's when you realize what a mess this rollout is.
The singles already in fans hands. There's a digital release and they're playing it live. This is the actual release, the physical release of a single these days is a nice bonus for hardcores who still want to buy CDs, 7" and tapes.
It is normal for any other band or artist to be putting physical releases in their fans hands months after release - especially when it comes to things like physical copies of singles that won't be sold at retailers. That's how things work nowadays.
At least with releases sold at retailers (like albums) they probably would have had their order in by now as they'd be predicting demand based on what retail thinks they can sell - with this release they're taking orders then going to print.
Casuals aren't buying this, it's a niche bit of merch for hardcore fans.
People are freaking out about this shipment and production delay way too much. It's not unheard of today for physical releases to be months later. If it were an album I'd be more concerned.

I think December earliest for anything new. This tour was meant to run through October and November with the Mexico and Oz dates. If there was plans to release anything else in those two months it would probably have been an alt on the setlists as they'd likely perform it too.
December onwards something could happen. And it can be something they didn't need to have as an alt on the setlists or soundcheck because they wouldn't have been performing it on this leg of the tour.
