#2281 Re: Guns N' Roses » GNR issue statement about Robin » 896 weeks ago
At the same time, it doesn't really matter who tours the record. The 01 lineup touring it would have been best case scenario, but obviously thats not happening. Now Axl just has to assemble a group he feels comfortable with touring behind a record some of them had little to no input on.
Like I mentioned in that Fortus thread, a few more shake ups in the lineup before the album/tour would not surprise me at all.
that's what i was talking about

Not to sound "negative", but I don't think it really matters anymore who is in or out of GNR. They all obviously sign contracts, and Axl likely owns whatever music they record during the sessions. If/when they leave, its up to Axl on what stays or goes.
Axl has likely cherry picked what he wants on the album regardless of their current status in the band, which is how it should be.
I'd rather hear BH and Finck kicking ass on TWAT than be forced to hear BBF and Fortus "take it to the next level".
i agree 100 percent.
the whole "this is not a band" concept is overrated
being sentimental doesn't get the album out nor does it make it any better
-keep the best parts on the album, regardless of who's they are. they have plenty of capable guitar players for the tour.

Ok this is good. So it means now to get an answer we have to ask Robin. As it shows he has not officially resigned.
it definitely confirms that gnr will move forward without or without him which is great news for cd.
james: where did this coma from? - it is not on the official website
#2285 Re: Guns N' Roses » Tommy/Westerberg consider a Replacements reunion » 896 weeks ago
i just don't see how a long period of nothing could be purposely organized at this time. i am not saying it won't happen i am simply saying i do not beleive axl would tell his band, "hey guys, i am gonna negotiate the album release for a year or two, keep in touch." everybody is leaving or talking about leaving or comitting to other things at a time where a lot of positive thing have happened. negotiations can break down but you don't assume they will and react to that assumption. you plan and you aim for them to go well in your favor. you also don't mess around with band members at this stage in the game. you have to be ready any scenario that can come out of the negotations and the strategic planning of geffen and management.
richard temporarily gone at the very least, a very odd interview with a standoffish fortus who appeared almost not to want to talk about gnr not because of a gag order, and now tommy talking reunion, although seemed more hypothetical. either certain more marketable guitar players like izzy and bucket will be returning to gnr to tour cd release or the completion of cd is enough for axl and he is planning a complete reunion.

all the fake leaks never have axl singing
why do you think the leak cuts out right before the vocals.one theory that comes to mind is that someone is threatening to leak the rest if they don't get what they want.
didn't a clip of chinese democracy leak before the full version did?
But that clip had vocals with axl singing, this does not. its just a scream.
i seem to remember the first clip stopping before the vocals started. am i wrong? the posting of this says the full song will leak in two weeks as if to be a threat.

Generally Axl's scream is a lot raspier than that isn't it?
the beginning of the scream sounds like axl and that is the part that is hard to immitate cause it is the pronunciation part that's as unique as the singer's speaking voice. it sounds like a decent tune too. the solo sounds like slash to me to be honest. not saying it is though. cause we haven't heard any of the other guys play buesy like that it is hard to say who it is if it is gnr. it could be any of them. i guess i'd go with robin if i had to guess.
#2290 Re: Guns N' Roses » Rumor - Izzy replacing Robin » 897 weeks ago
you guys are absolutely right. finck wrote some great songs/riffs but as far as performing they are not difficult to play. and if izzy is not capable of soloing he does not have to play robin's parts to replace him per se. fortus and bumble are both capable of playing robin's and bh's parts while izzy does rythm. in that case replacing him means filling the void created when robin left.
although, i thought i read somewhere that izzy composed the opening solo to 'Back Off Bitch.
this makes me wonder, regardless if this is true, if izzy has any involvement with any of the new songs, whether it be writing or recording.
