The only problem is that we don't know what was said.
Please elaborate. How do you know its definitely legit?
that's a good question - he kinda said it like he was there and then signed off. i doubt he was and it was his first post on the topic.

No.
If Slash comes back, there's gonna be three people walking behind him.
i partially disagree
logistically-
the cd release and tour is the main objective right now. if gnr completely reunites they will, at a bare minimum, have to get the whole band to get acclimated to each other and learn 6 or 7 new songs pretty quickly. that is not as easy as you and i playing the guitar riffs to welcome to the jungle in our basement but it's possible. gnr has officially commented on robin finck and noone else - he left. tommy is a great player and has stuck by axl. matt sorum is a jerk off and not that great of a drummer. i think slash could come by himself if he is willing to. he would be the new "lead" guitar player. i feel that is all that axl wants.
promotion and sales-
slash is the most important part but what sounds better to you,
slash joins gnr?
or
ORIGINAL GNR TO RELEASE AND TOUR THE WORLD!!!!!
CD may not be able to get the proper promo that it deserves. obviously, axl waited too long but if it is as great as it should be it will need something huge like a reunion to draw the appropriate attention to itself and avoid a let down.
in the end i lean on axl only needing slash right now in finck's absence. that would be a pretty big story i think and would result in some interesting music too, new and old.

i can't believe what i am hearing.......................
"not enough money to go????????????????"
i'll gladly donate to a poor rosesofvelvet member gnr reunion show fund
if one were created

Adler is too unreliable, he could be ok to do a full reunion tour or he might be unable to feed himself from one day to the next. Are they really going to risk a $100 million+ grossing tour on Adler, not unless he can get completely clean and I don't see it happening. As for Brain or Frank it's possible but I don't see it happening really. Matt's on good terms with Slash and Duff so he's as likely as anyone to get the spot should it happen.
Having said that if Axl, Slash, Duff and Izzy reunite and play together they could hire a performing chimp to drum for them and nobody would really care.
now you are speaking my language
no way adler would be invited back

Matt and Axl supposedly made peace back in 06, should we see a reunion don't be surprised to see Matt behind the drum kit.
nothing would surprise me-
axl is at "peace" with the other mentioned drummers as well. it's not like matt is this incredible drummer who is a no brainer as long as he and axl are at "peace".
he also is not an original. for the same reasons i would not expect gilby to come back either.

The cards have been on the table since the second Weiland walked out the door.
We're probably much closer to one happening then people realize.
my fantasy of seeing Slash and Fortus sharing a stage.
That will never happen. We'll never see a CD era member onstage with a reunited old lineup. There's no reason for it. The moment Axl screams and Slash starts playing Jungle, to paraphrase Amon Goeth in Schindler's List, "the past 12 years become nothing more than a rumor".
except for maybe the drummer
in the case of a reunion, i see axl keeping frank or brain over bringing matt back. but maybe it's wishful thinking.

plus they are playing already written parts that they both have been contributed to the album. it's not like thye will be battling to take over the songs live. bumble would play bumble's parts, bucket would play bucket's parts and robin's parts would be decided before hand.

Hopefully if GNR look to tour at any point in the future Robin will return, whilst it doesn't really matter any more who is in or out, touring CD without the lead guitarist from the album would just be pitiful. I know the situation is pitiful anyway but that would just be the icing on the cake.
IMO when CD gets released the best lineup to tour behind it is the 06 lineup. Perhaps not the lineup that's contributed most to the album but in terms of being digestable to the public, potential new fans and sceptical old fans the 06 lineup has to be the way to go.

Potentially, although I don't see a duo of BH and Ron working well together, they'd constantly be treading on each others toes.
i don't know - ron had a lot of rythm parts on the '06 tour,
which were amazing
