FOR THE LOVE OF GOD WOULD SOMEONE ANSWER ME - DAVE WHO???????????????
#2262 Re: Guns N' Roses » Rumor: Axl and Slash at same hotel in NYC? » 896 weeks ago
I don't get why Dave would be involved in any way. That doesn't make any sense other than his association with VR.
dave who?

i can't believe i am only the second one to want this
robin was said to be the replacement for slash - they have a similar style
slash should come back if robin is gone
all of the other pieces are in place already
just bring back slash please
otherwise, buckethead

that's the thing....he would have to make a DEAL....it wouldn't be a "lets just fucking do it" type of chemistry....and if they make a deal...there will always be that white elephant in the room...which is the collection of old conflicts past and present....
i thought that went without saying
isn't this true with all of our relationships and growing up - learning to accept what you cannot change
it always starts out as a deal, always

depending on what slash and axl want there a couple of ways to do it quickly.
mate, they had a bitter fight(s) from literally day one about pretty much anything....they took each other apart every opportunity they had and blamed the other for the band's breakup....the lawsuits they have (had?) against each other were fierce and very long....ensuring that neither of the two was able to forget the gnr saga.....to this day, they get reminded of it....
i just don't see a "quick" way to sort anything out...Slash will never be a contracted player for a band he was instrumental in creating....never in a million years...he won't let himself go there...his wife won't let him go there....his EGO won't let him go there.....its like publicly admitting defeat.....
Axl will never share his hard earned royalty rights to the name....that took him 10 years to finally sort out....with much heartache...depression....and headaches....
they perhaps acted civil towards each other when they saw each other....Axl acted civil with Matt Sorum when he saw him....also with Steven Adler....and Izzy....and he publicly took them all apart many times....
but because he acted civil....it doesn't mean he is willing to go down the same road again....it just means that he learned how to tolerate others....and be less aggressive....
you actually kinda proved my point when you brought up the them fighting from the beginning.
they dealt with each other through drugs, ego, and immaturity for 3 huge albums and several world tours. and now, they are grown up, they are off drugs, and they will both have gotten their monkeys off their backs with STP and CD.
if they made it work back then they can certainly, at the very minimum, could make it work today.
and i don't think slash is so stuborn not to turn down loads of money to tour with axl. he has no input on CD why would he require being in the band to perform with axl? he's no more in the band right now then he would be if he made the deal.

1-slash could be a contracted player. now hear me out before you flip out. cd comes out slash joins gnr for the tour. slash gets a substantial chunk of tour profit cause he is slash and is willing to do so because he is not on chinese democray anways.
and/or
2-axl makes him a partner for all future obligations other than cd release. there is a reported 2 more albums worth of solid material just waiting for slash to "take it to the next level." this is makin my mouth water.
neither of these scenarios would need to delay CD

Yeah... on the three guitarists thing, it struck me that a Fortus/Slash/Kushner line-up might work. Neither of them is in any danger of overshadowing Slash, but Fortus could do all the shredding and Kushner could make the weird experimental noises. And it'd maintain the VR/GN'R balance in the band.
I dunno, I guess I just think Bumblefoot doesn't quite fit as Fortus in a classic-style GN'R. I love the guy - Normal's one of my favourite records - but he doesn't quite have the right vibe.
i don't like bumblefoot and agree with you. but axl obviously does so i am just trying to figure out what may happen with you. gotta run to work - take care man. TTL.
#2269 Re: Guns N' Roses » Rumor: Axl and Slash at same hotel in NYC? » 896 weeks ago
See, I'd argue that Fortus is capable of playing the Buckethead/Bumblefoot shred parts. Probably not capable of writing them, but he could certainly bash out a serviceable version of them onstage.
i do too and that is also feasible. i am responding to what was said about slash not sharing stage with bumble cause of ego.
axl has always wanted three guitarists. slash may be more willing to cooperate right now.

i think they could come to an agreement, if this is all legit, to keep bumble on for the shredding parts to the new songs. slash would play slash's parts in the old songs and robin's parts in the new songs. they would split buckethead's parts up. izzy would be rythm and if he declines, fortus would saty onboard, although i already am suspicious about that fortus interview. he seemed more bitter than "respectful" in that last one.
