if this record is ever released, you know it will come around x-mas. So, in reality, Finck issues or not, they still have time to prepare a release for the end of this year.

exactly

people seem to forget that. they are not gonna release cd in a random time frame 8 weeks after it's turned or 8 weeks after thye get finck or a replacement guitarist. it will be during peek shoping time.

IMO the final version of IRS will be a strong track and it gets more positive feedback on youtube then a lot of the other leaks that are more finished.

more finished? whats that mean...IRS is about as finished as it is gonna get i think...infact its a bit overbaked if you ask me

Not really directing this at war specifically, but some people think this album(or specific songs) are gonna split the universe in half when finished.

I strongly disagree. The songs aren't going to be monumentally better when Uni puts it on a disc or the latest producer puts his touch to it. In my opinion, those 07 leaks were most likely the 01/02 album not properly mixed or mastered.

Is mastering those tracks really going to make a difference?

yes and no

we know they are leaks and have less expectations of sound qulaity when we all heard them.

if you listenening to them after the release you do so with a more critical ear. the small details become more prevelant and necessary.

monumentally better? no

there are certain synth parts they play live that are not on the leak that really add to it. i am also hoping they will beef up the beginning. the only weakness of the song, IMO, is the begnning.

And, I would like to see Universal's list of artists with 90 million records sold worldwide with only 4 albums of original material...pretty short one I imagine.

4?????

you must be counting Lies.

I say three

Ok so whether it's 4, 3 & 3 1/2, it's still impressive.

In any event, I don't think Uni is looking at any GNR has done in the past having to do with this particular release. Literally everything has changed since the last GNR release of new material.

i agree but
i still think both axl and the gnr name have enough draw for uni to want to release the album as long as it is good.

izzy quit after the albums were released but during the uyi tour
people are saying that is when axl took over

Izzy said that, beside the Slash & Duff drug use, Axl made him leave the band cause Axl acted like a dictator. He even called Axl later a 'mini Hitler'. Axl tried to make him sign a contract to decrease Izzy's money, because as Axl said 'we were friends, but now we're doing business'. That was when Izzy deicided to leave. So Axl began to become a dictator berore the UYIs, but the albums weren't 'his vision'. Some of it... yes... but not the whole. Or not even half of it.
I think those who list the songs' writing credits are often missing important points: first, that Axl (and even Izzy tongue) are over-credited; second that Axl has a lot of credits because he was the main lyrics writer. But it doesn't make Coma, Garden of Eden etc. be 'his babies'. Axl's babies are NR (mostly), the adopted The Garden, Yesterdays, Shotgun Blues, Breakdown, Estranged (mostly) and My World. Izzy had plenty babies, but most of them needed the Slash incubator or suffered of the lack of Slashness. tongue  Anyway, fuck it, they were great, when you're in a band, you help out your friends with their songs, and they help you out, too. 19

BTW I agree with most of buzzsaw said.

it looks like you think you are disagreeing with me but everything you've said so far is exactly the same as i feel.

other than izzy being overcredited on songwriting credits but i hadn't posted on that yet
