Every fuckin' body plays it better than new Guns. This fanboyish love the geeks have for the new-era KOHD, has stunned me since 2001. The suck hasn't been worth a damn since 1993. Let Bob Dylan perform it gay. Let GN'R perform it with some balls.
Same thing goes for Paradise City. Despite me posting that Baz video in the other thread, new GN'R--PC fuckin' is terrible. Axl's good, but the band is fucking horrible, and I think it's because Fortus does the intro, and has since 2002.
The feel is horrendous and all wrong.
When Slash does it, same with KOHD... that FEEL is there. There's soul to it. Soul is non-existant with the others.
Yer am not a fan of Paradise city would be the worst song the new gnr does when it come on when am playing the 2006 rock am ring concert i skip it they play it slow then speed it up

Axl was inconsistent back in the 80s and 90s, and he's still inconsistent. The difference today is that when he's great, he's not that great than he used to be. Comes with age and no practice.
Yep totally agree I seen gnr in '93 in Melbourne I was about 30 meters from the stage and it was easy the best concert iv been to the whole band was on fire and in 2006 and 2010 axl was still good for his age

it amazes me how opinionated people are on axl's vocals - past and present - and yet how few clearly know a damned thing about singing.
TWAT is leaps and bounds more difficult to sing than paradise city.
axl is human but for what he has lost with age he has made up for (and then some) with improved technique and maintenance of his instrument.
he can't scream with the same power he did in the 90's but he never could've sang TIL in the 90's like he does now.
from 2002 forward he has improved his vocal strength and the consistency of his performance every tour.
IMO he's as consistent today as he has ever been.
I don't know of any singers in this genre that don't have off nights and none of them have asked their vocal chords to do what he does.
No shit TWAT is harder to sing i said he cant sing paradise city as good as he could i still think he is great for his age just not in this prime anymore

Man, I think they played Estranged pretty friggin good on the Tokyo DVD.
But I agree, TWAT is a bitch for Axl to get through. Hopefully the slower version people are talking about might help him out. Better is a hard one for him to get through, too, imo.
Yer back in the day Axl would be able to nail TWAT he struggles with paradise city now
