No article but they talked about it on the local radio here today for a good 3-4 minutes. Nothing positive. Alot of jokes about how long it's taking and pretty much trashed the new leaks, the most common thing which seemd to be said over and over again was "we waited that long for this" The one dj called for a reunion immediatley.  Hate to say it but that's  pretty much the reaction this thing is gonna get. That will be the overwhelming consensus especially from the general public I feel.

Well, let's face it, if you want it for free, you will get it for free. Why not offer it free for a week or so, then drop it in stores. People who want the high quality free stuff can download it. If you want the whole package in stores, throw in a DVD or bonus disc. Everyone's happy.

As for a reunion, why tie it to CD and why use it as a way for Uni to recoup money? Axl isn't driven by the almighty dollar or we would have had CD by now. Besides why in the fuck would you want to see them if they are in it for the money. I want their heart in it. I don't want Slash to pretend to like Axl again just so he could cash a big check that he couldn't earn as a solo artist or with VR.

There's nothing worse than a half-assed effort masquerading as the real thing. The only way this ends is if Axl sees CD through to the end the way he wants it. In the meantime, we get what leaks, which will eventually be the whole damn thing.

Don't settle or wish for a cash-grab tour. We've been through that already.

If they are gonna go that route though, you gotta wait till Steven is clean or take Frank or Brain. That other asshole doesn't need to make any more money off the GNR name.

it is a mess....that's why i think he should send it all out in one go.....if he does it in stages...and the first one gets any negative feedback...(and we all know how gnr camp deals with that).....the others will get delayed by another quarter of a century....

send it all out in one go....and let it be....fuck the concept behind it....just burn 3-4 discs and that's it....

I get people saying the opening of Chinese Democracy sounds "80's", but other than that I don't get it.  I think these songs don't really sound like anything, and frankly, I think that's more of a liability than an asset.

Sorry to have not cited specific instances of people saying that, but I think they were spread out between threads.

I've used the term for years, simply because I've heard so much music that sounds like the so called "breakthrough" sound on these CD sessions.

The Praxis influence(early 90's) is clearly evident here, and the two new songs could have been placed on a Bucket album in 1998. The hip hop stuff is generic, and even the interesting sounds coming from Mother Goose sound straight from the 70s.

Its a mish mash of genres, but they are doing a damn good job at it.
