Interview with the guy from UMG who oversaw the production of the AFD and UYI box sets:
"Axl wanted to record a real orchestra on November Rain": Inside the new Guns N' Roses boxset
That’s not news though. We know that November Rain has been remixed for this box set to include an actual orchestra, replacing the synth stuff he did back in 1991

A few of us on the board here are from down this side of the earth, myself included.
So I figured we should probably have our own discussion going for updates from those going to the show, with updates etc.
I’ll be seeing them in Sydney in a few weeks, but Perth, WA is first up tonight.
I think Aussie from the board is gonna be there.
Here’s a local interview with Duff about the show we can expect:

Am I missing something here? Is there a live version of Perfect Crime included in this set?
Edit. It’s in the UYI1 Deluxe. Dunno how I missed that

They appear to be images of other people in the original painting. They look cool.
I thought those look tacky as fuck. The illusion album artwork was specific to that section of the painting.
To just grab other random characters from the original piece and trying to stylise them like the original Kostabi painting did, just looks cheap and tacky.
No doubt Team Brazil was the mastermind behind this. Probably Fernandon’t fucking around with MS Paint

I had to turn off RNDTH. I’ll take Mickey Axl over that any day
Probably the weirdest comment I’ve ever heard about Axl’s voice.
Each to their own I guess….
But these songs just don’t work without rasp, even if it does sound like he’s gargling razor blades at times.
But there’s no way that Mickey Rose sounds better than this!

Is there anything that stands out as a "must hear"
It’s nice to hear Bad Apples live from Rio, without the radio broadcasters voice over it, that’s been floating around as a bootleg for decades. And also the Izzy sang songs are a must for me, even if he sounds pretty rough on them.
I’m still making my way through it all. It’s certainly a lot to digest.

I’m just loving that we have so many quality live tracks from the golden era, in good quality to listen to now. They should’ve done this years ago.
And to hear it, without the shitty 99 re-recorded vocals, is just awesome.
Izzy sounds rough as hell on 14 Years, but it’s raw and awesome

For those that still care, the entire UYI Super Deluxe Box contents (minus the Bluray), plus the individual UYI deluxe albums are all up for streaming. The quality on Apple Music is lossless too. And I haven’t had to pay the stupid $500 (AUS) asking price to listen to all this.
See, there are benefits to streaming

But then again, this is GN’R, and they have a track record of fucking things up don’t they?

I’m not anti-CD, but some of you guys would have to be the only people on a music based message board I’ve ever encountered that don’t stream to listen to music.
To carry a huge stack of CDs with me to listen to my music with me wherever I go, is just inconvenient and kinda stupid when with Apple Music or Spotify I have thousands of songs easily accessible at my fingertips, all on my phone.
I also don’t know of a remastered set of UYI that was released prior to now? And especially not on streaming services.
So yeah, I think I’m in my right as a music consumer, to be a bit annoyed to not have the original November Rain available as a remastered track, as a option to listen to aside from the 2022 remix.
