#191 Re: Guns N' Roses » Slash’s 2018 Recording Plans » 436 weeks ago

I said in another thread, if new GNR material is the plan then all solo stuff gets dropped like a stone. The only project that can’t be dropped as easily is Axl/DC but we don’t know the status of that anyway.

Not that this news confirms anything from a GNR pov but I’d expect Myles to know his own plans.

Would be great to see them hit the festivals next year with a new single on the radio, let alone an album.

Is that the longest GNR show ever or does that Japan one from 09 still beat it?

I tend to think the side projects could be dropped like a stone if required. Whilst a return to Myles would suggest no plans for new GNR material that could easily change.

The only one that’s too big to just drop is AC/DC. If Axl is wanting to do it again and Angus wants him then that is a pretty large time commitment that would put GNR on the back burner. With that said events of recent weeks may have changed things. Angus has lost two brothers in the last month, that may motivate him to kick on and do more AC/DC with the time he has. Conversely he may decide to step back and focus on family. With Cliff gone as well the guy’s got to half rebuild the band, at this point in time that might be a task he no longer wants. I wouldn’t be surprised if Axl/DC never happens again.

Seem to be getting on ok here.

I’m generally pretty bored with it. I’ll give some tracks a spin now and again but they don’t hold the same appeal as the AFD and UYI material.

I also tend to think the adding of so many CD tracks to the current tour is overkill or more particularly the choice of tracks. It was fine with the CD lineup but let’s not kid ourselves that 99% of the people in the stadiums now aren’t there for the classics. No issue with 2 or 3 songs but adding in CITR and Prostitute etc is unnecessary. Except for CD and Better the only other CD tracks I’d like to hear is SOD and IRS as they sound most suited to classic GNR.

Anyway CD the album, yeah it’s ok but feels like a poor relation rather than something that sits proudly alongside the back catalogue.

RIP

Awful few weeks for Angus, losing 2 brothers in as many weeks.

An old Madagascar demo if that’s your thing. Otherwise no.

I love Going Down. Would have been cool on an album. Maybe Duff could sing it?

I agree, it sounds like an organic song written in a more traditional way, rather than the cut n paste feel a lot of CD suffers from.

Those leaks are bullshit. If anything, this leak proves it. Within a couple hours, it was everywhere. They would've never been contained for 2 whole weeks. That, along with the fact that those dips are also trying to take credit for this one.

No. Those are leaks.

Madagascar is not a leak. It's a demo of a song everyone already has. Hence why nobody cares to horde it.

Not really leaks though are they. A song nobody is listening to because they don’t have it isn’t a leak.
