I haven't seen him live but I heard he puts on a GREAT show, he's good to his fans and likes to keep ticket prices low to his shows.  He doesn't seem all that evil to me.

Now I will second this. I saw Kid Rock live in 98 or 99 and during some song he went around and played every instrument, but really shined on the turntables.

Besides that show, I've inadvertently seen him live about 5 or 6 shows. He has this tendency to show up at every concert in Detroit.

In high school I worked at Little Caeser's, and he came into my store once. He was really cool. I'm not saying anything about his character, but I just can't stand his music.

For the record, Joe C. was a dick.

That's pure garbage. Kid Rock is genre jumper. He couldn't it make it with rap, so he tried his hand with rap-rock, got a little more popular, then blew up with "Only God Knows Why." Two more albums of rap rock, with two more hit ballads. Now he's sticking with what makes him money. The working-class southern rock songs. Please. I'd rather listen to one of those dime-a-dozen rappers that made the list. At least they're honest in what they do. File Kid Rock under "Genre-jumper" with Rascal Flatts and close the drawer.

I'm from Detroit. I remember when Kid Rock had songs like "Balls in your Mouth," and "Pimp of the Nation." The rest of the country didn't know who he was until "Devil Without a Cause."

Thanks for the feedback. The drummer's actually on a 5 piece kit, I just think it was an acoustics issue with the camcorder. Russ does rhythm on a few songs (such as Running Down a Dream.) I think the only reason the lead on that was buried was because the camcorder was setup on the right side of the stage, which is where Russ' amp is. I have a DR, so I don't use a pedal for my lead channel, so there's nothing to crank! On the songs where I'm the only guitar, which is the bulk of them, I don't have to compete with another guitar for volume.

We don't have anything written at the moment, but we've discussed it and none of us are opposed to writing a couple originals to sneak in. The fact of the matter is we're a three-set bar band, as we decided we wanted to have fun, but still make money. As all of us can attest to from past experiences, there's no money in originals.

Do publications plan to hold on to this stuff for an anniversary? You'd think that this would've been published much, much earlier.

No, but the D to D/F# to G change is a little less common.

yeah i guess so

doesnt axl say in the cbgb show that its the 2nd time they've ever played patience and first time ever live? That was Oct 30, 1987

You're right, I just did a little search and it turns out I was thinking of Don't Cry.

No, but the D to D/F# to G change is a little less common.

And did anybody catch the discrepancy in the story, even from Duff's account?

Frank cleared it up, so it really doesn't matter, but the accusation was that Guns stole Tesla's song while they were label mates. In Duff's story there, he says they got signed in 86, and also wrote the song in 86. Haven't I seen a video of Patience live from 85?

Not Afraid and Fuck You get my votes on the list. Of course, I don't think I've heard 95% of those songs.

Bono, the fascination in Fuck You (for me) is the fact that it's a classic, upbeat soul song with a modern twist. The fact that it has offensive lyrics is what gives it the modern twist, and makes it a little more light-hearted and not depressing. A break-up song that makes you laugh is a little more than a flash in the pan to me.

If you ask me, I don't understand the fascination with Drake, Cutty, Kesha, etc. I'd easily pick Cee-Lo above any of those acts anyday.

No, I'm saying that DJ's solo in that is really sweet, but I don't think he plays that well live. Studio musician.
