That metal band Anvil!!!
I saw the movie-documentary and it's funny like Spinal Tap but also kind of sad for Anvil and countless other metal-hard-rock bands have no longer a market with the big-wig record companies to promote and sell records.

(By the way if you haven't seen the movie go rent it. It is funny and 'harsh-reality of trying to make it in a professional band.)

Just making my living......that's enough for me"

I think Axl is like a movie producer/director. He likes directing a movie he will never find an ending for and in the making of the movie he likes to hire more and more actors to play the parts in the movie!!!

lol

And again it's hard to hold a candle in the cold November Rain!

It sounds silly but I've had four dreams were Axl and I were in them:

Last night: I had a dream. Axl & I were hanging out partying. He wanted to go and hang at some beach. (In the dream the beach was called The Bowery. Why I don't know.)
We get there and we're hanging out behind some beach house were there are about ten people hanging and talking.

About a month ago when I was dangling the idea of joining G&R as a guitarist I had three dreams:

First one: I was in a music store and Axl was there. He looked at me as if he was measuring me in what kind of person I might be. He was there with a few of his friends.

Second dream: I was walking down a street in my home town and as I turned the corner Axl was walking alone. He looked at me and said: "Brother, you don't really want to be a guitarist in the G&R world. It's way too much pressure and you are too good of a person for me to put you in that position. He smiled and walked away."

The third dream: We're at some arena or stadium concert and I'm with Axl holding my guitar. He says: "Now I've hired you as a back-up guitarist waiting in the wings. You're not going to play unless one of the other guitarists fail or gets sick and can't play."

Four dreams within a five or six month period.

How about any of you. Any dreams that are G&R related? lol

You know what would be outragious is if a someone like Jerry Lewis started an annual telethon to raise money for new rock groups to be able to perform theaters for free. After a period of ten years it would recreate the rock & roll business for all rock groups who are fed up with the music business.  lol  5

And it hurts too much to see you and how you left yourself behind
You know I wouldn't want to be you
Now there's a hell I can't describe.

Well the comparison of Aerosmith and G&R is kind of hard to do given these facts:

When Aerosmith reformed (Tyler and Perry and all original members) they really weren't writing the bulk of their songs anymore. They now have songwriters writing for them. For me the last real Aerosmith lp was Night in the Ruts.
Secondly Joe Perry is no way a better guitarist than Slash. Slash can eat Joe up and spew him out in a second. Period. Did you know that the studio version of Train Kept a rollin on Get your wings lead guitar part is not even Joe Perry? It's a session guitarists. It doesn't even sound like him. : )
I love both bands. I've seen G&R open for Aerosmith and Deep Purple at the Giant stadium and with all due respect to the re-formed Aerosmith and reformed Deep Purple back than with Ritchie Blackmore,  G&R blew away both bands out of the water hands down. That's a fact.
And Chienese Democracy blows any Aerosmith lp after Night In the Ruts for sure without even having to argue or list points why.
