#11 Re: The Sunset Strip » Netflix's "House Of Cards" » 639 weeks ago
I have watched it and I agree. It's an amazing show. The show definitely has a premium feel to it as well.
The one thing that was distracting was the commercials. Now I know, you are saying "But it's commercial free!" Yes and no. The commercials are built into the show, even built into the story at times. Like the reference to the PS Vita, or all the Apple products, or that one dude being a photographer and Canon equipment being featured prominently- even a Canon photo printer, and not a standard one, a huge one to make huge prints.
In fact, that whole character seemed contrived to sell that lifestyle.
Hopefully they find a better balance next season. I don't mind the commercial elements of it, would just like them to be less distracting.

Lol this lame hack insulting axl? Haha Axl shits all over this generic fuck on his worst day
FINALLY someone says it. Can't believe it took this long.
I know a lot of people like Slipknot, Stone Sour, Corey Taylor... but I can't fucking stand him or the bands. His voice and lyrics are what pisses me off the most. He sounds so generic. And the lyrics are awful. Saw him open for a festival I went to with Stone Sour, they sucked. Most songs sounded the same. And there was some "say you'll haunt me too" song that was just pure shit.
TL;DR- Corey Taylor is a fuckwad who can't hold Axl's jock

It sounds like your girlfriend liked, and still continues to like, that kind of attention she gets when she's baring most of her body to people. That's not necessarily a bad thing either. As far as you've said, she's never actually received money for performing sex acts. So all she's done is play the occasional stripper while drunk. The reason she sounded like she was bragging while telling you this is that there's a common misconception that all straight men would love to date and marry strippers.
But what gives you the right to tell her that she can't take pole dancing classes because the thought that someone else might see her do it in the future makes you uncomfortable? If it's what she wants to do, then you need to get over your own insecurities about it and let her do it. Not only is it something she can call upon in the future to spice up your love life, but it's also a great way to stay in shape.
You have every right to feel the way that you do. And if this is not something you are looking for in a partner, then I would advise you to think this over, and talk it over.
But most of all, don't see it as a threat to your relationship. And who knows, this could be just a passing fancy and go away on its own.

I don't get the worship for Kim's playing. He is very good, but a lot of mindless shred that goes no where. And with a wah, almost anyone can sound good playing fast, covers the slop.
I take it you didn't watch the video. That solo is mostly NOT shredding. I was referring to the last 4 seconds of it. Which, if you had watched, was not "mindless shredding that goes no where."
To classify Kim as a player who either shreds or uses wah to cover slop is incredibly ignorant. Especially on a GNR board, as Slash has never been the most meticulous of players live. Especially in the early days of Guns.
Kim is highly understated in most of his playing. The difference between him and others like Slash is ego. Kim doesn't feel the need to make his playing stand out over everyone else, or the need for a solo on every song. He's content to take the backseat and let others shine as well. The last 3 SG albums really showed that.

By Crooked Steps Music Video

It's actually pretty good. Directed by Dave Grohl, and it shows. Reactions to it are mixed but I found it humorous and memorable.

I can't see there being an album in 2013. Pearl Jam are hinting at an upcoming announcement and have been working on an album. So I see them releasing an album late 2013 and SG in 2014.
Or PJ can get a new drummer and let Matt focus on his original band. And let SG do what they do best.
#19 Re: Guns N' Roses » Guns N' Roses Vs Led Zeppelin » 648 weeks ago
I picked Zeppelin. I love both bands, and it's impossible for me to pick which is better musically, so Zeppelin wins for the number of years they have on GNR. And the fact that they haven't tried Zeppelin minus Plant and haven't harmed their legacy.
Stairway on Celebration Day is just mind blowing. To hear guys that have hardly played together in almost 30 years come back and pull of that level of perfection is amazing. If GNR reach that age and pull of November Rain like that, then picking a band will be impossible.
#20 Re: The Sunset Strip » McCartney to Front Nirvana Reunion TONIGHT- NEW SONG » 653 weeks ago
If I understand this correctly, it's called "Cut Me Some Slack"
Great that we will have a studio version of that song! And that its nor branded as Nirvana.
Yes, they should do an album as a new band. These are guys that could definitely be classified as a super group.
And Dave is one of the hardest working men in rock. That guy does a lot of projects.
