#11 Re: The Sunset Strip » Best Films of the 1990s » 117 weeks ago
Some movies I watched at the time and still remember fondly, not necessarily good movies but it was about the people, the life I had at the time...or they have a fantastic soundtrack.
Point Break - saw this with friends (was it summer 1991?)
Man Bites Dog - I don't know if it was ever a thing in the US.
Natural Born Killers ( I believe it was Trent Reznor's first stint in the world of movie soundtracks. Amazing soundtrack. I remember the movie was discussed a lot on TV, was it too violent, should it be banned? A young couple decided to be real life Mickey and Mallory in Paris and it didn't end well).
The Blair Witch Project (how to make a scary movie out of nothing...)
Bridget Jones' Diary (I still watch it at Christmas time, I never get fed up with it)
Muriel's Wedding
Drop Dead Gorgeous
La Femme Nikita (aka Nikita) - the only Besson movie I still enjoy watching. I saw the Professional too many times, and the "special cut" with added scenes between Leon and Matilda is a bit cringy. The "cleaner" in La Femme Nikita inspired Leon.
Four Weddings and a Funeral
True Romance
Pulp Fiction
American History X
Casino
Dracula ( Coppola, with Gary Oldman and Winona Ryder)
Boyz N the Hood (must be in my top 10 for the decade, and all time movies too)
Juice
The Usual Suspects
Thelma and Louise
Titanic (it really was an impressive movie at the time).
The Bodyguard ( used to love this movie, but I now find it a bit too long)
I said "some movies"
I think I am forgetting some of them.
I still haven't seen Trainspotting and some others.
I think I did see Sleepers ages ago and would like to see it again. Same with My Cousin Vinny.

There's the declaration signed by those students at Columbia.
10/7 wasn't a terrorist attack. It was a "counter offensive".
These people are maniacs. In a normal world, there wouldn't be people lining up to defend them.
A counter offensive. Yeah, right. You do a counter offensive when you fight soldiers. Attacking civilians and destroying them by evisceration, beheading, shooting at them, etc is overkill. Here Rishi Sunak (UK PM) said it was a "pogrom".
It is a sad fact that universities are full of very questionable teachers, some of whom advocate the holocaust never existed, while others support terrorism, etc...
I was checking Charlie Hebdo and the chief editor said what happened on 7 October and afterwards is reminiscent of this

I find it very interesting, because France had to give up on Algeria a few years later. I have a feeling that Israel's days are numbered. I may be wrong. There is a whole coalition of people who are actively trying to get a Palestine state recognised.
I don't know if it is recent or not, as there are periods where I don't really read the papers, but I have noticed that in the French papers and even on the government's website, Israelis are referred to as "settlers". Maybe it's been like this for a while. But it shows that people are questioning and denying the right of Israel to exist....

Why would he want to sell stuff related to a band he left 15 years ago?

But he could have a website with prints of his own artwork/photos on t-shirts or canvas or whatever. The guy is an amazing photographer.Gn'R t-shirt from 2002
Because no matter what time period it is a fan will always want to have something from Robin that is Guns N Roses related. Like a 2006 Guns tour shirt that would be worth to have today since Robin was in the band and on tour with them then.
Is it weird I still have the water bottle Robin threw me in 2006 from stage?
Not if you are a fan. Yes, if you never liked the guy.
I still have the guitar pick DJ Ashba threw me at the O2. Must have been 2011 or something.

If only Robin had his own website where he would sell tee's like these!

Does it matter???

two Jehovah Witnesses were walking up to rign the doorbell. Figured the loud music and lyrical content might have scared them away, but no such luck.
Did they tell you they had a "friendly advice"?
