With any normal band you'd hear about these things. But then again most bands are bound by NDA's and treated like this. I suspect Axl and the rest of the band are just fatigued from touring, it's the end of a massively long cycle and that cycle is over now. With the many legal things going on and sapping energy, it's no surprise they have nothing planned. At the end of the day if Axl is planning a massive, or very relaxed and cosy Christmas, fair play to him and the rest of them. They've spent years touring the planet doing the same songs for years now, it has to take it's toll.
Hopefully they surprise us next year with a renewed energy and a fresh, brand new album that they're happy with. But I doubt it. If we ever see anything again, it'll likely be more stale Chinese leftovers.

Does anyone have the SESAC Monsters credits? It’s buried in this thread somewhere but I can’t find it.
Put 727212244 into SESAC Work Number on https://www.sesac.com/repertory/

Will we get the traditional one week delay like all the other releases?

Does this confirm the leaks were the final version? I've listened to the start of that and the leak and they're absolutely identical to my ears?
Anyone with headphones costing more than £38 want to disagree with that?

They're acting like they're planning a surprise attack on the USSR. Not a fucking peep!
That made me laugh. It's true though, the band is so weird with stuff like this. If it's coming out, just say it's coming out. Even if it's not a big deal, just let one of the band members release the news. If it's not, just say that too, rather than letting a situation fester where fans are disappointed that the band didn't do something it never intended to do.

I received my magic 8 ball today. Now just waiting for the vinyl.
Ask it if the mix will be any better on the vinyl and let us know what it says...

Curious, I wonder if it is to supply corrections or something like that.
Just another example of the weirdness of GNR. It'll be a rights thing somewhere, Axl or TB trying to cut someone out of some money somewhere.

Incredible how many different opinions there are about GN'R songs!
I more or less like the post CD stuff a lot more than CD (demos excluded). As a fan I guess it is harder to judge. Most casual fans would probably say the songs are poor, compared to Jungle, NR etc.
I think the material is just all out of context and in the wrong time. Had Axl not been so neurotic and just been bolder and released an album relatively quickly, I think it would have been a great success and contemporary with the time. Having them leak over the following 20 years in various stages of development was always going to ruin the presentation.
Songs like The General and Monsters are dividing opinion greatly. For me The General is the best song we've heard of the CD material. It's mature and brave, but 20 years too late and not really a GNR song. Release that 20 years ago with the Finck/Bucket lineup as 'Axl and co' and it'd have cult status now. Monsters for me is a throwaway, a song so shallow in it's construction it's similar to a mass produced pop song. But people like it because it's catchy.
Old Skool is terrible, the spelling of it is so immature and without knowing it's history, it sounds like a demo from the Appetite era that was nowhere near making the cut. Perhaps should have been on Chinese Democracy, it's contemporary with songs like Sorry and better than a couple of the songs on that album.
Rather than stringing any further releases from the CD archives over the next five years as is probably the plan, they need to just dump it in a vault online and move on from it. Either retire or do a new album that they release quickly without the need for a decade of needless delays that leaves the music outdated.

What are these links?
Supposedly rips of the Japanese 'Perhaps' CD single release. But they don't sound any different to the leaks and some claim they aren't even the same quality rate as each other, so can't be from the CD. Who knows.

You leaky MFs
Just a classic example of the messed up nature of GNR at the moment. Just release the damn thing on your own terms. Instead, mess up the initial release, as they have with all the other releases recently. Then mess up the second release so that leaks before you officially release it as well. It shows perfectly how inept and incompetent the bands management or record company is. Whoever is responsible for this, no doubt Axl or TB, is a joke. Why delay the digital release another week to the 8th? What good does that do? Just release it now.
My idea is still the best. Put ALL of the footage, pictures, emails, clips and songs into one huge archive called 'Chinese Leftovers' and host the link online. And then move on, either to retirement or a new album. And don't tour again without releasing a new album, it's beyond ridiculous at this point.
