of all the bands in the universe i had to go against BLS'

i guess the obvious thing is whether you're more into heavy or funk, rock n' roll, mellow stuff.

i think my band could work together very well. and it wasn't stated that they have to be able to play each other's material so i don't think that stands as an argument against my band.

tom and les together with izzy could pull off whatever style you'd ask of them.
i don't think travis is such a weak pick, he's there to play his drums and for the show, and i think he can pull that off as it's not such a hard thing to do.

i picked amos because i like her piano playing and since i had freddie on vocals you need to have a piano in the band. also, tori is a great songwriter and together with freddie and izzy they could do some great things together as far as putting songs together.

i think they could put one hell of a show with les, tom, amos and mr. mercury right up there. i would love to see a show by the people i picked and i can't begin to think what an album could sound like.

in conclusion, as i've said, it's more of a choice of styles between these two bands. BLS has a very strong line-up, possibly my favorite besides my band so, whatever you guys pick i'm fine with it. 5

This is the way I look at it.  Win or lose.  This is just fun.  So why trash the band you're up against and elevate yours?  People will vote for what they think will be the best band end of the line.  I voted for my competition.  Not because I thought his band was better or worse.  But because in the end.  This is just fun.

Have to go with D's band because I love most of the guys in that band. Neil is one of the best drummers. You can't beat Master Hendrix, Clapton, or Robert Plant the Golden God. The man can still sing well. You have some great members in your band though, gnfnraxl! big_smile

Considering when I got in on this.  I'm not ashamed of my band for one nano second.  wink

I decided to go against the grain and be different.  While most people would vote for their bands.  I'll vote for D's.  Why?  Demonstrates fairplay.  Plus, both bands rock!  And I felt it was childish to vote for me.  *lol*

My vote went with Supa.  Stradlin, Claypool and Mercury.  Nuff said.

I voted for Buzz.  Lennon and Van Halen could be unique.

#17 Re: The Sunset Strip » Best band Neemo vs Russ » 669 weeks ago

Voted for Russ here.  Elvis and Prince are what made my choice.

All right.  I'll try to explain my lineup as best as I can.  I'll start with my lead and rythm guitarists.  Now let's be honest.  Adrian Smith and Joe Perry while both very talented.  They're also two very different types of guitarists.  And that was exactly my logic.  Both will push each others limits in exploring new grounds.  Both are very experienced and are lead guitarists in their respective bands.  So they'll try to blend and explore new horizons.  Smith is more metal and plays faster, while Perry can definitely rock he is at his best in dirty blues rock.  Add in Foegerty as the utility and I'd bet it could create a very interesting and unique sound there.  As for Vedder.  I think he can sing and adjust to many styles.  He proved it in Pearl Jam.  And he could provide some very interesting lyrics to the music that would be created here and add to the sound.  Sheehan is an accomplished bassist and would bring an interesting groove to this band.  As for Moon.  He provided some interesting drumming for The Who and he could adapt to what the rest of the band could bring.  So while my band would be more blues rock, Smith could bring a more hard edge with Vedder and Moon could easily adapt here.  As for Fogerty.  He's an accomplished musician and songwriter.  True he could be hard to work with but I think he could bring something unique here.  Add an extra sound.  So there it is.  I want to wish D good luck as he has an amazing band too and actually has what would've been my 1st pick for a drummer.  Let's have fun.

cause the songs aren't fun.

a GnR game could, in theory, have worked.
but when you have Axl making unreasonable demands then... nothing. same as w/everything.

Was it available to buy on disc game?  And like I said.  The Rock Band game did not include old GNR songs.

A GNR Guitar Hero game could've worked.  You put the Chinese songs in there and the best of the other albums with Axl's lineup at the time.  It would've worked.  Unless he wasn't allowed to put his lineup.  Then it would give Slash, Duff and all a legit claim to the GNR name.
