Wow.

My hopes for the song just hit a brick wall.

You don't bury big guns on vinyl they know a handful will buy. They're still giving away the last vinyl they released to fan club members.

My 20 year old instinct shaping up to be true...Brains description nothing more than trolling and Baz being Baz, was mistaken about which song he heard... probably Seven or Soul Monster.

His song descriptions always sound the same anyways.

If The General is a steaming dog turd, my interest in the rest of the vault drops to zero, including Oklahoma.

I think we're about to find out why this stuff was sat on for 20 years...and it's not because it's better than what was released in 2008.

Also true.. and what if the songs Baz heard was actually State of grace??

I seriously doubt it's instrumental. Baz specifically mentioned hearing it with vocals in at least two interviews. Plus there's vocals in the cellphone clip, which is almost certainly The General considering the music from the intro is clearing playing in the song. Another possible explanation (if this is true) is that the speculation about the possibly very dark lyrical content of the song is accurate.

Yeah. But what if they only have intentions to realize the symphonic version we all do know? That has more sense for me if they don't want to lounch it digitally as a single.. State of grace is very similar, and indeed I have doubt that Slash and Duff could give those songs a different approach.. Both songs have more doom metal vibes referring to SB description..

Hoarders takin' it to the grave,

Or,
do most already have an early version this song under a different name?

Before hearing the cell phone recording I have the same hipotesis because state of grace fit Sebastian Bach description on the song..

Someone said recently that Fortus said in a Q&A on facebook that Seven was Circus Maximus & Dtune combined. No idea if it's true or not though. I haven't tried to mash them up & tbh can't really see how it would work. Hopefully one day we will know for sure but who knows

I don't remember if was Fortus, but I read a lot on the forums that those songs probably are related..

I would believe Circus Maximus is Ides. A tune built around a drum loop. The Caesar connection…

Some people say Circus maximus is Seven, according to Brain in a interview..

Yeah I want to hear that in full!

Yeah, I'd love to hear it. Even if it's just an instrumental, you could layer the vocals from… was it Rock Band or Guitar Hero? I'm sure there was an isolated vocal track for Jungle.

Better off using live vocals. Here is a clip of jungle with 2007 vocals on i just did https://www.sendspace.com/file/661ho2
It takes some work to timestretch parts to get it to work so the whole track would take a while, sounds ok to me though

So live era vocals where a mix live/studio, and where from the same time of the instrumental, so It fit well for me..

Or realdoll.

Wait, the re-recorded WTTJ leaked? When did this happen?

I can understand the point about a video like Perhaps not working for a song like The General (although I would point out we don't know how the song may have changed) But them being there shooting stuff does not mean a video for another song would be the same style as Perhaps.

Same crew can easily shoot black and white footage of Axl sat at a piano alone, and cut in moody street shots, like The Garden for example. Or again could be for something that's not a music video.

I would like to know the camera's they are using. Netflix for example has a minimum spec camera that they except for current independant films/documentaries ect.

I think they had their cameraman following every step they did for no specific purpose, most bands have it, for what purpose to use the content is up to the band, most of it just for media on the web, but of course they could use it for videos.. They did it for Hardskool too, for their lyric video or tour video.. I don't remember what they called it, weird tactic, they would have called it official video, it would fit too.

I actually really like State Of Grace. Reminds of Mechanical Animals era Manson.

I like it too, but to be honest, only recently on a relistening I'm actually digging it.. and also Zodiac and Elvis..
