I just don't understand what bad could come of this? If at least the songs Axl is on are good, then how could that be bad?
Oh, I don't know. Maybe people say they suck and CD is put on hold for another 4 year period of perfecting the vocals? Maybe it never comes out? Maybe he feels the need to write new music. The bad possibilities are endless. The only good one is it inspires him with the confidence to release CD.
Yes but at this stage that one good outweighs the bad anyway. We don't have CD now and have no idea how close or far away we are from getting it, long time fans are giving up on CD on an almost weekly basis. If Axl gets panned in reviews and it knocks his confidence he delays the release of an album that some (including you) questioned would ever come out anyway. How do we lose there? We were never getting the album anyway so what's the problem? Or there's just the slight possibility reviewers may say Axl sounds as good as ever and has been away for far too long, perhaps it's time he released his album if he sounds like this (something one review has said already). That might just be the spark that really makes Axl believe he can do it (assuming that's the reason for the holdup of course). I'd say that one 'good' however slim the chance of happening makes it worth it.
All Axl's gotta do is sound like Axl, judging from the leaks he can still do that, and he's more than done justice to every cover I've ever heard him sing. This is the bit Axls good at, whilst his productivty might not be the greatest, singing and making great rock music is what Axl does best and why I assume most of us are still here. I have faith these songs (Axls at least) will be pretty good because whilst he may have his faults, when Axl puts his voice to a song, 9 times out of 10 it's a damn good one.

Axl wouldn't be on it in the first place if it wasn't of an extreme.y high standard...The time he is taking over chinese democracy is proof of his high standards...He would hardly lend a LEAD vocal to this alum unless it met his high standards
Time being taken isn't necessarily proof of high standards the reasons for CD's delay are more likely a combination of all sorts of things. Most of the songs he's ever been on are proof of high standards, with a few noteable exceptions like OMG and Silkworms.

Is there no end to this womans talents? From housemaid to GNR manager to psychic room sniffer, quite an amazing transition Are they sure it was Beta and not 'Yoda', I thought all that checking the vibes bollocks was more her area of expertise?

Guess we'll have to wait and see.
Well I agree to an extent I highly doubt this album will be widely recognised as the best metal album of the century. I think the reviewer got carried away there but there's no reason it can't be solid or even great album just cos he's an 80's singer.

Magic (I'll get my coat)
I remember reading this in the paper at the time, made me laugh then and it still does

My anticipation for this just rose big time. Back In The Saddle sounds great, Axl on lead vocals too. Hopefully the reviewers right and Axl will take confidence from this and get CD out.

Should a reunion ever happen I really don't see Gilby being involved, especially now Axl and Izzy are on good terms.

I love that song. I thought it was a song by Sarah Mclachlan for years, and I could never find it. I heard it on a Halle Berry movie awhile back and made sure to watch the credits. Found out it was from Dido so I went and downloaded it.
Bob Seger- Shame on the Moon
White Flag is a great song, I'd really recommend Life For Rent by Dido as well. I think it's on the same album as White Flag (I think the albums called Life For Rent actually). Life For Rent is a really beautiful song, blew me away the first time I heard it, you should definately give it a listen.
Seven, I'm not a big Stone Roses fan really I have a few hits but that's it, my friends a much bigger fan than I am but I was at his house and heard Made Of Stone for the first time. Best song I've heard by Stone Roses, it really spoke to me when I first heard it, the chorus is phenomenal, the melody and everything else just comes together perfectly. You a fan of Stone Roses, Seven?
