#1951 Re: Guns N' Roses » NIN imploding? Finck coming back? (NOPE!) » 933 weeks ago
I get the feeling that Robin saw the way the wind was blowing when Azoff - he of the VH reunion - turned up. And sure enough, now we have these newspapers reporting that "Axl" is trying to get the old band back together. Bullshit - it's Azoff trying to chuck the album out there, draw a line under it and get the old band back.
Pretty much the only people in the new lineup whose place is secure are Dizzy, Pitman and maybe Fortus (assuming Izzy doesn't want to tour or Axl DEMANDS to have three guitarists). I don't like it - it's a shoddy way to treat the people who've pissed away a decade of their careers on Chinese Democracy - but it looks increasingly like it's happening.

I was wondering which tracks on Abnormal feature the fretless...

Axl- Catcher outro.
Buckethead- TWAT solo.
Finck- Better. Or his TWAT solo. God, I love that song.
Ron- Fretless rhythm on Chinese Democracy (or possibly the Riad solo. I actually prefer it to the Bucket version)
Fortus- The rhythm parts on TWAT. And jumping around on stage and having "stage presence". Fuck you, Lofton.
Tobias- Fuck knows. TWAT. Did he write that? Can I say his "call-and-response" solo on Sympathy for the Devil? 'Cause I actually kinda liked that.
Stinson- Bass lines during the TWAT solo
Pitman- The album intro! Or the samples on Madagascar.
Dizzy- The Blues
Brain- Riad
Frank- IRS drum fill at the end of Bucket's solo.

So it's the first brand new album he has bought in 15 years. Either he stopped listening to any new music or simply started downloading stuff. I hope he paid for the downloads.
Fucksake, he works in the music industry. Even the journos on music mags don't bother buying CDs, they get 'em all sent out (well, with the exception of Chinese Democracy!). I'd hazard a guess that even a mid-level rock act like Bach can get his hands on pretty much any album he wants, free of charge.

I want to hear digital versions of the Brian May demos (CITR and Atlas Shrugged). That's pretty much it.
#1956 Re: Guns N' Roses » What song would you want as the 3rd single? » 935 weeks ago
I want TWAT. And I want the video to feature Buckethead emerging from a chicken shack on top of THAT cliff from the November Rain video, before unleashing THAT solo on us. And then he's teleported back to his home planet, his work on Earth complete.

TWAT. I say that not having heard the new tracks off the album, admittedly. But I think we have to set aside the fact that we, the hardcore fans, have been listening to it for several years now. It's epic, we've had two obvious rockers and it really showcases the work of Buckethead and Finck.

Can someone hook me up too? Please?

God, I can't believe that we're relying on a guy who uses fucking dial-up. At this rate, he'll finish uploading the album next Wednesday...

Which four tracks?
