#1941 Re: Guns N' Roses » The Reason Behind The Delay Of "Chinese Democracy"....? » 957 weeks ago
Well, if Uni has the album, won't they say something? What reasons do they have to not say at least this:
"We have Chinese Democracy now and we hope to release it in the next year".
They have nothing to lose if the ball is in their court.
If they have it then can't they say anything they want and end all this secrecy/silent treatment bullshit?
Why would they, it's not the labels job to announce stuff like that. They don't do it for other bands as far as I'm aware so I doubt they'd do it in this case either.

"The true ongoing behind-the-scenes triumphs and casualties are much more complicated than any negative speculation that media or otherwise has managed to hit upon. For much of the time some form or another of legalities have been taking place that really the best way to deal with publicly was to keep our mouths shut in an attempt to ensure the best outcome and especially one that wouldn't jeopardize the band or the album."
Amazing how in one statement we have justification for GNR both communicating and not communicating with it's fans

I agree that Mysteron's latest comments are a change, but they could still go back to "the album needing more work." Axl has said that the album was done before, the cover art, all that good stuff. We know how that panned out. Axl, Merck and Mysteron said that the album was coming out last year, we know how that panned out. Things change all the time in the GN'R world. It's never ever their fault. It's always some unforseen obstacle.
I honestly wouldn't be at all surprised if we were sititng here in November 2008 discussing why it still isn't out yet. Like I said, I hope that I'm wrong, but we'll see.

Exactly. They could always say "The label said the album needs more work"
They could but it would be absoloute suicide to say that. That's effectively admitting it's been rejected, no way does GNR want to say that their 10 year in the making album wasn't good enough for the record company, anticipation for the album would plummet.
That's why Mysteron's comment is quite interesting, unlike most of his posts this one has very little wriggle room, if they back away from what Mysteron has said it only makes things look worse.
The record company could well be holding things up without Axl having handed the album in. Perhaps he's set some terms, you get the album but only if..... and they are mulling over those terms, who knows. I suppose best case scenario is they have the album and are now thinking of a plan of action etc for a release most likely next year now. However I wouldn't even dare dream that
Overall though I take this as positive news

#1947 Re: Guns N' Roses » Love Is A Bitchslap With Axl » 957 weeks ago
I was expecting this to be shit judging from previous reviews, the Bach only version was supposedly horrid. I definately wouldn't call it horrid, I think it's pretty damn good, my fav of 3 definately. I'd say Axl features less prominently on this song than the others but his duets with Bach in the chorus and at the end work really well.
Only criticism is the opening lyrics are cheesy as hell but like I said it's only minor. I'm really impressed with this song.
#1948 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » Guns N' Roses Without Dizzy Reed » 957 weeks ago
I think in some of those songs keyboards are absoloutely necessary, imagine Estranged without the piano, it just wouldn't work imo. If Dizzy wasn't there Axl would be playing piano on the songs instead so it makes no difference really, we'd have got the same songs Dizzy or no Dizzy.

The version of Love is a bitchslap with Axl hasn't leaked yet though has it? I thought just the Bach version was available?
#1950 Re: Guns N' Roses » Libertad Fails - Will nuGNR follow? » 957 weeks ago
A good first single is what sells albums. Admittedly other factors come into too such as the artist or the anticipation for the album but as a general rule a good first single is what will set the ball rolling better than anything. VR didn't have one on Libertad, hence the poor sales.
