Hmmm, I don't see it being GNR but you never know. As much as they annoy me My Chemical Romance would probably command a headline slot these days, although all 3 rumoured headliners are bigger bands than MCR so who knows.

What about Aerosmith, are they meant to be touring this year? They could be a possibility?

Negotiatians... could really take forever. Uni is not desperate for this to come out since there's little money to make back, and Axl has never been one to take shit from a label. He could walk away from the table and leave a finished CD in his vault for months, years, maybe forever.

I think they'll be pretty keen to have it released. They'll never make all their money back, but even if CD only makes 5 million (for sake of argument), it's 5 million they wouldn't get otherwise. It's not a certainty but CD has potential to do very well, it could just as easily flop but it does have certain things in it's favour. The name GNR will always be a seller and to an extent the name CD is also a selling point, I'll assume after all this time they've got at least one hit single up their sleeve, a bit of good marketing regarding the whole 14 year wait kind of thing and the fact that every music magazine going will run a story on it when it's released gives this album a fighting chance. I appreciate there are as many cons to CD's pros but the factors I've listed above at least give it a figting chance, from there it largely depends how good the album is as to which direction it heads.

I'm quietly optimistic about this news, it seems without doubt the label now has the album, which as far as we know is the closest the album has ever got to coming out. That by no means guarantees it will come out any time soon (if ever) but at the very least it's a shoot of hope for 08.

Fuck.  This doesn't look good for the continuance of VR.  I'd like for the guys to continue on with a different singer if they have to.  I wonder what Axl's doing now? haha

If there wasn't a rift in the band, they would've just canceled the show after Scott missed his flight.  Performing without him just means that he's not that important to them in the first place and that they're ready to move on.  Sucks for the fans who showed up to see the full band.

I don't really see it that way, the band was there all except Scott they could either cancel the show or go on and at least give the fans something for their money.

I think people might be jumping the gun a bit announcing VR as over because of this, it's not good certainly but we don't know the details as to how/why he missed his flight. I think the reason he wasn't there will be far more important in terms of VR's future rather than just the fact that he wasn't there (if that makes sense).

It'll be interesting to see what happens at the next show...

It's a Crane on the set.

Thats not even what the producers claim.. They claim it was an Ostrich that got loose from the next set.

Not that I think it really is a mini-hanging

A Crane is a large bird, not too similar in size to an Ostrich.

I dunno about the CD intro.   That surely makes the whole song.   I be willing to wager that the public would like that, people like a great build up to a song.   Look at Jungle.   Granted it's not Jungle and I don't want to get into comparisons but I'd say that CD without the buildup imo wouldn't be as strong of a song.   I never really liked CD all that much until that build up.

I don't think CD would be a single. If it was, I would imagine it would be a later single depending on the success of the record.

But even if it were released with the intro in tact, DJs would ofcourse talk over it until at least the point where the riff starts if not all the way until the vocals.

Yeah that intro wouldn't work on radio, until the guitar kicks in the sound is quiet and subtle, unless you had your stereo cranked right up that's nearly a minute of 'dead air' for a radio station. If CD was ever to be played on radio I would imagine it would begin when Finck's riff starts, it would be a sin if they left out Axls opening scream and just started the song on the vocals.

I'm postive in a sense because this is probably the closest the album has ever been to coming out that we know of, which is obviously good news. Like others have said though with the record industry in turmoil the label could be hanging on to see how things pan out, I doubt they'll bat an eyelid at keeping Axl and us waiting considering how long they've been waiting.

I agree, too much of anything isn't good, everything in moderation.

If we all followed the guidlines on healthy eating we'd all starve to death anyway. If something isn't a carcinogen it has too many e numbers or will cause immediate and irreversible obesity. Like you said keep things in moderation and there won't be much of a problem.

Having said that it's scary to see what happens to a tooth if you put it in a glass of coke overnight 18

A mile long and a half mile wide!!! And only several people saw this, half the state should have seen something that big.
