#171 Guns N' Roses » New Slash interview - some stuff about TSI » 144 weeks ago

No new album news, but some interesting tidbits about The Spaghetti Incident.

The interviewer asks him about the rumoured lost TSI track, Beer and a Cigarette. Slash says that he doesn’t remember recording it, but that he’d check with Duff about it.

I hope something comes of that, as I’d love to hear another song from that era, even if it’s another cover.

You can find video of both the speech and performance on YouTube

Just watched his speech. That was very thoughtful and touching. He hadn’t planned to say anything apparently, but did the best he could do, after he was approached. I thought that was really great of him to do that for her.

The November Rain performance was pretty good too. I was particularly impressed with parts of it. He didn’t go fully Mickey, and he actually had rasp in parts too. He must’ve been nervous as hell playing it like that (just vocals and piano) and at a funeral of all places, so props to him.

Well it's been 4 months since hard skool...i gave them the benefit of the doubt for some reason lol

Hardskool and Absurd came out in 2021, that’s more than 4 months ago, that’s a year and 4 months ago…!

I’m talking about we were promised more new music in 2022, which eventuated to nothing but talk.

They have been teasing a single song for 4 months ffs

And no album in 14 years

Current generation has zero tolerance for zero communication ... also technology has bred a society with zero patience...very much what have u done for me lately

4 months? Slash mentioned in an interview at the start of last year, that new music should be out to coincide with their Summer (ie. June) tour. It’s now January the following year…

Though I think Slash said again later in the year that the redone CD leftovers should be out late last year, after Summer came and went.

If it’s recorded and done, just fucking release them. Why is it so difficult?

The whole, “we have new music ready”, then promising that “this new music will come out by this time frame”, then it not coming out, and with no explanation as to why, is just boring at this stage.

No one gives a shit about the supposed mystery of this band. They just appear to be inept and stupid.

I’d love new music as much as the next person, but following the drama of it all is tiresome.

U2 have been quite prolific with new music over the years. I don’t see an issue with them reimagining their older songs in a format like this. I wouldn’t buy it myself, but it’s hardly a point to say that they’ve lost their creativity by doing this

Locomotive is the ultimate guitar song GNR made, so I think that's where he thought he could do the most good.

I also thought he was sick. Why didn't he perform?

I just looked it up.... hearing loss from Sorum's bass drum.

Sounds like an excuse to me. I wonder what really happened?!?

It’s not an excuse. I thought it was common knowledge that’s what happened. His tinnitus was flaring up, due to standing close to Sorum’s drums during rehearsal, so he decided to cancel the actual show appearance.

I think it’s a wise move if they guy was concerned about his hearing.
