^ Unless the loon owned the gun in the first place.

If chips in guns are possible it may also be possible to have tech that would communicate with the chips that would disable the guns in certain areas ie schools.

Every news blurb on Axl Rose says he'll be recording with AC/DC this year.

Because an AC/DC biographer tweeted saying that was happening and everyone has picked up on it. However there is a question over how ‘in the know’ this guy is as his biography on AC/DC is very low on detail particularly the bands recent years. He may know something but it’s not a certainty. Angus keeps his cards close to his chest, spilling the beans to a guy who guys running straight to twitter doesn’t sound likely.

My hope is perhaps a single on radio to support the summer shows. If they are in the studio at the minute then that would be entirely possible. Then maybe finish up in the autumn for an album release in winter/spring.

Depends on if the rumours are correct really. If they are in the studio now or imminently then the above is possible if not then I’d say 2019 is the absolute earliest we’d see something new, if at all.

Slash destroys Robin in his own songs, but he also butchers Robin's (and Bucket's) songs, so it's 1:1.

Even if that's true though - 2006 GNR played almost solid AFD songs most shows and only like 2 forthcoming CD tracks....so it still led to more WTF moments in 2006. I do have a soft spot for Axl of that era though - total badass.

Axl in 06 was killer. There was a hunger about him that I don’t think we’d seen before (at least in the post Slash era) or since. He seemed like he had something to prove in 06 and there was still an element of danger about him. He seems content and happy and enjoying it now he has Slash and Duff back but the drive and hunger is less evident now (and non existant 09-14).

Agree on the assessment of the 06 tour as well. I think even then James labelled 06 as AFD rehash. GNR shows have been largely based on nostalgia for the best part of 2 decades. Now that Slash and Duff are back nostalgia’s suddenly a problem and a stick to beat them with? I’d take the current form over the ‘dangling a carrot of new material and progress meanwhile playing 85% old songs with inferior players world tour part VII’ any day of the week.

Hmmm maybe. Although as you say the recent touring comment I don’t think really applies (based off a quick google).

Also would Pumpkins be described as permanent A list? Not sure they would.

I wouldn’t bother seeking out GNR’s 2017 Rio show. It’s probably the worst one of the entire tour.

Rick doesn't sit around while you write stuff. You hire him when you have everything ready to go and he deems it good.

Lets say they have something agreed, it doesn’t mean Rick (assuming we’re on the right lines) sits twiddling his thumbs while GNR writes material. I’m sure he has other things to be working on. Maybe they want him part of the writing process ie vetoing tracks Ezrin style before they waste too much time on them.

It’s also likely a lot of the material is semi finished anyway. Either from CD or VR days. Whilst I’d like to see an album they’ve co written from the ground up I doubt that it’s likely.

Would Clink be considered one of the top 5 producers of all time? Not sure he would.

Out of interest who would make that list?

Rubin
Ezrin
RTB maybe? (Not sure he’s a likely candidate after CD though)

Any others?

there's a "rumor here that they're heading back to the studio" since about... 2011 or when that was?
oh I nearly forgot that they keep talking about this in their numerous interviews and press releases during the last couple of years, sorry about that smile

I'll only believe when I have something physical in my hands. I can hardly be more "objective" than this.

Questioning the legitamacy of the rumour is one thing. I question it myself, I’ve never heard of the site it was posted at before, I’m assuming it’s some sort of music industry insider site but I could be wrong. Doubting the rumour is fair game.

Axl discussed the possibility of doing new music with Slash in the china exchange interview he did btw.

My point wasn’t that you should believe the rumour. It was that you are moving the goal posts in order to maintain your stance that everything is shit. For months your issue has been the tour is nothing but a money grab which is evidenced by the lack of new music or interviews (you even posted that same view in a thread about a Slash interview ironically). When presented with a new album rumour (and that is all it is) that contradicts this you explain why any new album will likely be no good anyway.

I’ve no issue with a ‘believe it when I see it stance’ but your current posts are that of someone who either revels in being gloomy or wants this whole thing to fail. Being objectively miserable doesn’t make you a realist.
