#171 Re: Guns N' Roses » Dizzy tells fan: "Robin still in the band" » 883 weeks ago
hmm...the gnr.com take on the situation wasnt so sure...albeit that was a while ago now...maybe things have been cleared up recently
It is insanely out of date. If they say 'a week is a long time in politics', what is a few months in GN'R politics? (Mind you, what's '14 years' (not the song)? A couple of years, as standard between albums (for most normal bands)? LOL....)
Not knocking Axl or the 'creative process': it just has to be said.
also Ron & Rich have alluded to the fact that he is still "in" ... as usual i dunno what to thing about this band
Point noted.:)
By the way I still have the verify this with the guy.:) But there you got that's what was (supposedly(?)) said.

How do you do an album and tour with NIN "on the side"? NIN is bigger than new GNR.
Try again Dizzy.
The return of Guns N' Roses will overshadow yet another NIИ effort, surely?
The 'Chinese Democracy' album itself - with the album name itself - so mythical and wanted after all the years - will surely surpass NIИ in the short-term too?
Of course - all these things are short-term only; unless, as has been suggested elsewhere, GN'R goes the way of U2, the Stones, and other bands. Could work IMHO - and there's enough material for it (or so we hear).

Feel free to merge this with the other thread if need be.:)
Another one that somewhat 'slipped under the radar' - if confirmed.

Dizzy had told me that Robin was still in the band, just doing Nine Inch Nails on the side
Take that for what it's worth
Will ask him to send me the e-mail/message for confirmation. Others can do the same. Kudos.:mosh:
I wonder if Robin's told Dizzy he's still on board? (Maybe now that the album *seems* to be about to come out with one genuine 'song launch' ('SR')?) If so - good news.:mosh:

no i know i was just wondering if she would let the cat out of the bag now that things seem to be winding down
Yeah I was thinking that....

Even the Better/Harley thing didn't mention anything about a single.
I think some Harley Davidson document - maybe a response to a fan, the later press release, or I seem to recall the online embedding of the then-streamed video, seemed to mention specifically that it would be the first single. Again, they may have confirmed this to an e-mailing fan. That's where the "'Better' is first single" idea came from.
I'll go look at old/October 2006 time threads on mygnr, whereon I recall it was first reported.
Damn that was an exciting day....
James Lofton wrote:Yeah, its definitely the first time the word "single" has been mentioned. Even the Better/Harley thing didn't mention anything about a single.
Didnt Madison claim that she was told the name of the first single at a gnr show she was at?
maybe she can finally come clean on that story
She said, IIRC, it "began with 'I', and has 'te' in" (possibly at the end ?). Then 'I.R.S.' leaked. I am surprised - and have never seen even since it's inclusion on Chin's setlist pic. - no one approach Madison over 'If The World' being this song. She reportedly said it was 'one word' though - and that she has never seen the title mentioned anywhere else as of a few months ago.
I wonder if that song really is called 'Intentions' as that would fit Madison's description somewhat.... Seems an odd choice for the first single though for me, though I like the song. (Oh, and '2000 Intentions' was once a rumoured title of some sorts at one time.:))

One anomaly is though, as Art Director of the project (his current role within the company apparently too), he appears to be a low level employee in the (NewGNR) video; wouldn't he be much "higher up the chain", so to speak, if he was the Art Director (of the project)?
And I would hardly describe the solos in the middle of 'Better' as "crazy" - cool, but not "crazy".:)
Lofton edit: picture removed.

Time to chip in: has no one seen the photos of the guy (from Google) posted on one of the CD.com websites, mygnr, etc....
Definitely looks like the same guy. And he is a Harmonix employee.

While Bri's the Bucket expert of GNR Evolution, I can safely say he wouldn't cancel a tour. Way too devoted to his fanbase, regardless of its size. IF, and thats obviously a pretty big IF at the moment, Bucket is coming back, GNR could plan things around his tour.
Now if this tour does indeed get canceled, well you guys know whats happening...
Someone said I think in one of the other threads that Bucket in LA around the time of the VMAs (I know - I know - don't shoot me ) and now the tour ending autumn (fall to you guys) - around the *earliest*, I guess, GN'R could hit the road to start at least the major leg of an album-promoting (<seems weird to write those words) tour stateside. Some of Robin's tour plans IIRC *end* (temporarily?) around this time as well.
Has the tour started yet? (I agree Bucket's devotion to his fans is truly overwhelming.)
But... Corpse of Mugabe couldn't be the reason this was canceled though, could it?:nervous:

Well, right now he is on tour. He's working with Brain and Bootsy in the band Science Faxtion, but we just got news the other day that that project has been delayed. Curious. I assume it is just one of those things, but who knows. Bucket is touring until Nov. 11, for sure. That's his NYC show, so it won't be cancelled.
Bootiful my friend.:D
Looks like a lot of *things* are being "delayed" in Bucketheadland at the moment....
If 'duty' called (the chance to send his career into the stratosphere with GN'R (I mean let's face it hardly anybody has heard of him, say, here in Europe as far as I can tell)): do you think he would cancel his tour plans?
#180 Re: Guns N' Roses » Rumor: Unheard GNR song on Rockband 2 » 884 weeks ago
Guys, BH was never out of the album. Do you not remember axl saying that BBF would only be re-recording some parts, not all?
A song quite clearly based around him is a bit more than that though....:P
Do we know what Buckethead is actually doing right now? Certainly Brain has not replied to my e-mail.
But isn't he supposed to be working on a new project with Brain + co. called Corpse of Mugabe or something? That *seems* to be the only "spanner in the works" for me - although Bucket and chums can of course record really fast. Bigbri?
