Abortions are awesome?!?

I check both politics and conservative Reddit subs for political news from time to time. Some guy on conservative was automatically banned from a sub for being on the conservative sub. Such bannings are supposed to be against Reddit policy but of course they do it anyways.

Here is his ban message....

That is pathetic and insane on multiple levels.

Is this satire?  Cause that's what I thought when I first read this.  If not, holy shit.  I lean left, and even I find some of these things batshit insane.  I also had no idea about many of those references in that message.

No.

They have nothing interesting in their discography like a Achtung Baby/Zooropa/Zoo TV concept or The Wall/Dark Side of the Moon that could be mind blowing in such an environment.

They have a few albums filled with random songs....and 99.9% of their artwork consists of boring skulls/skeletons.

Who wants to pay $600-$1200 to hear Jungle while 3  skeletons dance on a giant screen?

There's really no interest (to me anyway) outside of one show or two in a regular venue.  The lack of content where they could rotate albums or do anything creative hurts them big time.

If we don't get something in 4-6 weeks, we're probably not getting it.

They're probably waiting to see if US tickets start selling with no promo. If they do, they'll shit can the release.

Our only hope for new songs is empty stadiums.

If there is anything that categorizes this "era" of GNR, it's that they value touring revenue above everything.  They see the writing on the wall.   I'll be optimistic here and say they release something to get more asses into those stadiums.

I need to watch Sea of Love soon. Only thing I remember about it is Pacino and Goodman are cops.

I watched it a few years ago.  The only thing I remembered is that the image had this annoying washed out look.

Titane--man was this a let down relative to my expectations.  I liked the director's previous film, Raw.  So, I was kind of amped for this one and it starts out well.   Chaos abound for like the first 30 mins or so.  Then it turns into some sort of family drama.   And one main plotline is never really resolved. Kind of goes off the rails for me to the point where I dozed off twice.  It looks great but is an ultimately empty film.

I'd rather that than no Axl. I think he did ok! Slash was incredible

Yep.  He wasn't awful.  I did enjoy the Slash NR outro, that was great.  I'm still surprised at how much people seem to love KOHD.  I always preferred the AFD lineup version without the slow downs.

I've just accepted that Helium/Mickey Mouse voice Axl is here to stay and it doesn't bother me as much.  What can you do, it's normal human aging?

Pretty tied up

This is definitely the case.  They are only on Bad Obsession on the stream I looked at.

Yeah.... something is cooking....

Whoever came up with that intro, kudos.  It was cool as hell.

I sometimes hate following this band because on some rare occasions it seems like they have their shit in order and they make you excited again.  And then they'l go back to their usual ass clownish tendencies.

This is true of some TV shows as well...

Watch some old Law and Order episodes...and then try watching that new reboot.

I watched a few eps of that and gave up.  I mean the novelty of it wore out quick for me.  It just seemed so sterile compared to the original.  And as a big fan of L&O it pains me to type that.  Fuck, I enjoyed that other Law and Order spinoff w/Merloni and Dylan McDermott more than the reboot of the original.

While I like II...it definitely has some issues.

The prequel section should've been it's own movie...the way both stories are edited lessens the impact of both. It's why I like that chronological version of both films.

The Cuba/Hyman Roth stuff goes a bit overboard...it's only real highlight is the scene where Michael finds out the truth about Fredo. What a scene it is though...love the look in Pacino's eyes when he hears that.

That's kind of my issue with it.  The ping ponging between past and present kinda annoyed me because I would be getting into it and we'd go back or forward.  There defintely is an artform to directing one of these films with multiple plotlines.

James wrote:

I need to watch this too...it's on one of my massive queues on one of those movie sites.

Sounds like it might need a proper remake...so does Videodrome.

Yeah, without spoilering anything, there is a plotline in the film that could have been expanded and really turned into a totally different film all by itself.

Vanilla Sky.  Not bad.  I kind of love it when Cruise goes out of his comfort zone and does a different non-blockbuster film. I remember this thing opened in the dead season of films (aka Sept and Oct).  And that was the right move.  This one is too smart/complicated for people expecting the usual Cruise action film.  This might be the one film where I don't have an issue w/Penelope Cruz' English accent.  She just has a precense in this film.  Kurt Russell is also really good here.  The film is more about life and love than a thriller.

Yeah that was the moment.

The title track at HOB is incredible...short, sweet, and to the point.

I was fully onboard his "vision" after hearing that.

Fast forward 7 years...and listen to the album version.

Cluster fuck.

I always hated the intro from the title track that appeared on the album.  It just seemed so pointless.

And thinking back on 2001, he should just said fuck it and debuted some of those other CD songs during those live performances.  I think he underestimated how much interest there was in him and the band (even w/out Slash and Duff).

And really he should have copied the Velvet Revolver method of playing a few GNR songs and devoting the rest to material produced by the project/current musicians.

#170 Re: Guns N' Roses » 2023 Tour Dates » 105 weeks ago

Thanks!  This is the first I've heard of this version.  Honestly, I prefer this one over the album version.  It's a little more raw and I prefer the electronic beat/rhythm over the other version.
