Its bullshit. The label isn't going to "sit" on an album. I can imagine them waiting awhile to set up the promotional plan, but no way in hell are they gonna sit on it until next September-November.

I also don't believe there are going to be a bunch of chinese pictures because the album isn't about China. Its metaphorical, and some people still don't seem to be able to grasp that.

Everytime there's "news" and it surrounds a Chinese theme I think they same thing you just posted.

and those pictures are not revealing a metaphor? i thought they rather illuminated Sebastian's choice of art....That said I have no idea if they will be in the booklet but they easily could be...

the truth is often hard to bare and the truth is often stranger than fiction. Bullshit however is a dime a dozen. This artist does not look to be entertained by BS...Before Seven?

perhaps there is a clue in the choice of pictures? Regardless great shots, sad reality and worthy art. Interesting the picture of the Catholic church with heart of Jesus w/juxtapositions schizophrenia.

If you don't have a CD done cash in on mysterious.... Why change what has been working for 15 years?

#155 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » Weiland Arrested Again » 913 weeks ago

I agree no one ever wants to face the media after an incident like this but ostracizing yourself from your business partners/band mates is a step in the wrong direction. The void is deep unless you fill it...

A conviction for the full year is unlikely unless he gets in more trouble, a past pattern for Weiland. ... He needs to beware of running those old self defeated tapes... Not submitting to the test was the first intelligent thing he has done as an addict ever (guess he has been goi9ng to meetings), but a trip to rehab after Christmas never hurts the dysfunctional, if he needs it he should go.

Frankly I think stepping away from this project for a minute to focus on his label and reach out to some ghost from his not to recent past would be the move to make... ...to be unlike the rest of the industry and reach out a bit more to other artist is the  thing to do...It is after all Christmas...Being self absorbed is such a bore after a minute. Plus a change of venue form LA, would do him some good. No place to be unless your working...My personal opinion is he is getting complacent with what he is doing...Bored angry Los Angeles, bad combo....

This is NOT what they meant when they said "no such thing as bad press'

#157 Re: Guns N' Roses » A question I have - Music industry related » 913 weeks ago

Yes, especially if you are shopping for the best deal. you want to generate a situation where you have multiple offers and you can chose the best terms or negotiate for better terms because you have generated interest in your band.

Guns and Roses has global draw through name recognition. Even a partially successful tour may be enough for the label... If they think a bad tour will distract from the record, I don't know, the guys at Interscope can be anal but in general they come much more from a Radio promotion background, at least the guys who started it did. Tour support I don't know if they are going to offer Ax that.

Keeping your name in the news, who was it that said "no such thing as bad press'?, Jagger maybe? But from a reputation of no show, the promoters are a different story...You have to prove personal responsibility. Lots of money on the lines and insurance issues with no shows...especially if you are using multiple promoters, in different countries or regions.

Basically by controlling the name he will recoup cost for the label, personally I think they are waiting for New NO-Copy technology... But that is just my jaded perspective on where the industry comes from....they have waited this long.. what the fuck do they care

#158 Re: Guns N' Roses » How will the delays effect C.D.'s sales? » 915 weeks ago

Just as a side note I have had several people tell me they are hearing an increase in Old GnR being played on  Radio.. this is Geffen's promotional style (suspect they will stick with what has worked historically no mattter who the label is). Subtle sustained NOT in your face. Something I expect to hear/ as a build up for release/ purely speculation but something I have thought for years that other non GnR people are noticing and asking me what is up. (like I know these things). Could be nothing but it is a great example of how the Ghost in the Machine actually does view promotion....

Right, so therefore no one should be safe from criticism. My point was that it seems to me that the Slash fans are under the impression that Axl's story is the only one that changes ever. My point is; everyone's does.

Anyone who would Saint any of these guys has questionable sense to begin with...

Anyone who would Saint any of these guys does not know much about them anyway... They can all be KING ASSHOLES. As much as Ax talks who knows what his story or version is... I  think he is over it anyway, he has his own little world constructed which is what he wants so he gets it. I doubt anyone in his world is to worried about what really happened in the past, they just want to make sure the future involves them so I doubt they are to relevant either. We all pick and chose our constructs to live with ourselves to some extent.
