In the 90s I spent at least a few thousand on all those imports/bootlegs. Hell, a single disc was between 35-50 bucks and the 2 disc sets were between 50-100. I had a bunch of them.
Most of them weren't very good quality either. Fans needed a Live Era set to satisfy them so we couldn't go digging for bootlegs.
It's funny because I was born 85 and completely missed GN'R in their heyday. So I discovered all this stuff in the Internet era without paying a damn thing for the old demo songs, 88 Ritz show, 92 Paris show, 87 London show, etc. Guess I should be grateful for all the money I saved...
...on the other hand, I would gladly fork over $50,000 (maybe $100,000) for a time machine trip to the 1985 Sunset Strip and just follow that band around everywhere like Canter did.

This discussion about erasing One In A Million from the history books...scary as shit. Hilarious too that Axl is pulling this crap. He talked one time about how he visited China for a few months because he wanted to go there before releasing Chinese Democracy and getting banned by the government from stepping foot in that country again.
It's even funnier coming from a band that was all about telling society to go fuck itself. Now I'm paranoid. The only version of GN'R Lies that I own is the iTunes copy. I'm going to download a FLAC torrent right now so I can have a lossless copy of One In A Million. It's a great fucking song, regardless of the controversial lyrics. Screw Axl or anyone else who wants to censor it from the history books.

The next stop will be the UYI box set. I'd love to hope crash diet will be a part of that.
Main thing with Illusion remaster would be to live up to the hype Slash gave us over the years. He said the raw mixes were a hell of a lot better than the final studio version. Would be cool if they can remaster it to the level he mentioned.

Yes, I saw that too. Hahaha pretty funny. This song sounds awesome on a big stereo
I think this set is probably worth the $30 just for remastered copies of the old demo songs like Shadow, Jack Flash, and so forth. Remastered Appetite/Lies on top of that is a nice bonus.

Ho-lee-fuk thats a pricy box (1000USD). oh well. we got a new video on youtube for Shadow Of Your Love
Not only does the guitar work sound brand new, I think those are new vocals. I prefer the old demos, but this version still kicks butt and I'm glad the 95% of GN'R casual fans out there will get to hear this song instead of it being in the dust bin as an outtake forever.

I'm happy if we get a remaster. Some type of modern remaster is well overdue when you look at the catalogue of similar acts. They all have 30th and 20th and even 10th and 15th anniversary editions. Most major rock albums of the 1980s and 1990s have been remastered somewhere along the line.
Appetite sound is already perfect.

Don’t Damn Me is a fucking classic guns tune and most Guns fans don’t give 2 shits about it.
There are a bunch of songs like that in the GN'R catalogue. "Only" 5 albums released from 1987-2007, but those albums had a fuckload of great material.

and again, FUCK after almost 30 years of being a GNR fan, I started to love Don't Damn Me. that guitar solo buildup after 3:33 is almost-Buckethead-ish, why the hell they never played it live? also Axl's singing or maybe rather sometimes phrasing, rapping or something like that (especially "I'm the only witness to the nature of my crime"), is mindblowing.
also Bad Apples has extremely good guitar solo. Slash was shining like a giant star on these songs, yet nobody besides the fan community ever appreciated these moments.
Don't Damn Me kicks a ton of ass.

Great song IMHO.
