#141 Re: Guns N' Roses » If GNR releases nothing in 2023, is this the end for you? » 130 weeks ago

Duff has just released 3 new songs to streaming. Sounds like leftovers from his last solo album. Not bad, but sounds very meh.

Really Richard? Still playing the “we don’t have a setlist” card, even though the setlist outside of a few songs has been the same for 7 years?

Just stop talking. It’s embarrassing.

Why is Fortus visiting family “GN’R news”

Or am I missing something here?

As for the second show in Amsterdam, the setlist was equally as impressive. Great start to the tour!

THE CALL OF KTULU
CREEPING DEATH
LEPER MESSIAH
UNTIL IT SLEEPS
72 SEASONS
IF DARKNESS HAD A SON
WELCOME HOME (SANITARIUM)
YOU MUST BURN! (LIVE DEBUT)
THE UNFORGIVEN
WHEREVER I MAY ROAM
HARVESTER OF SORROW
MOTH INTO FLAME
FIGHT FIRE WITH FIRE
WHISKEY IN THE JAR
ONE
ENTER SANDMAN

Ecstasy of Gold intro is just bad for a Metallica show. They could do the Sesame Street theme song and it would sound less out of place. Totally different energies.

Yeah, they’ve only been opening all of their shows for over 40 years with Ecstasy, but they should probably stop because you think it sounds “out of place” 10

It’s actually a great build up and tension builder, for the big metal show to come.

Did you guys see the set list for that tribute concert?

(The Ecstasy of Gold intro)
Creeping Death
Ride the Lightning
Motorbreath
No Remorse
Trapped Under Ice
The Call of Ktulu (Dedicated to Cliff Burton)
Phantom Lord
Am I Evil?
Metal Militia
For Whom the Bell Tolls
Whiplash
Fade to Black
Seek & Destroy

Encore:
Fight Fire With Fire
Blitzkrieg
Hit the Lights

Insane.

What concert was that?

Edit. Yeah, the one for Johnny Z, who put out their first album.

They selected songs only from the first two albums. Great setlist!

Meanwhile, they kicked off their world tour in Amsterdam as well, and had a pretty good setlist for that too.

Better not be Carrie Underwood! They really could make a splash by having Izzy and Steven imo

It's not Carrie. It's Glasto, so it has to be a surprise. Not wanting to spoil things, if it's true. We did the line up first, I think that's enough lol

There's nothing else, just what I wrote, which is as Slash said anyway. Not sure what the record company are planning. As per the other Slash comments, he says he will, and has, be writing, then collaborating with GNR at a later time. From a secondary, not him.

As for the unreleased CD material, I've asked if it'll get released at a later time, the record company said, not anytime soon

So now you're saying that the reheated Chinese leftovers that Slash said were coming off soon are infact not coming out anytime soon?

And so the circus continues. This band is beyond a joke at this point.

That would’ve been the smart move - release Hardskool as a single first, with a proper fucken video using live footage montaged with the studio audio on top, and shortly after release the EP with Absurd on there too, and live tracks, (like they ended up doing anyway) but within a proper timeframe and with proper promo for it, using the “first song from Axl/Slash/Duff in 30 years” as a major selling point. Then it may not have died in the ass like it did.

Instead they were out the gate with Absurd, which the general public thought was outright shit. So by the time they dropped Hardskool, the general public didn’t care anymore.

The closest thing to a ballad is probably the 11 minute closing track Inamorata. But even that’s not so much a ballad as more one of those Metallica epics like Outlaw Torn or Fixxxer.

I’m still processing my overall review of it.
But I think it sounds like Load and Death Magnetic had a baby, and 72 Seasons is the result.

One thing is for sure about this, the riffs are heavy and fat as fuck. Aside from the drums being too up front in the mix, this thing sounds huge.

Any updates buddy?

Hiya,

Songs are coming out soon, summertime. Record label are the goto for this, band members vague on anything

Year off next year, assumed from external parties and plans outside gnr

Glastonbury will have at least one guest possibly, source, the guest. Very guessable lol

What happened with Slash saying last year, that after the US tour finishes this year, they’ll work on a new GN’R album? I guess that means those plans are shelved too?

They’re so full of shit.

Just come out and tell us no new music is coming instead of this forever dangling carrot bullshit.
