#1431 Re: Guns N' Roses » Ideas for new GNR songs, performed live by Ron » 678 weeks ago
What I find entertaining about Ron's song ideas is that it's surely only a matter of time before evader or someone cleans them up and adds those cellos, drums and basslines that he's describing...

Anyone going to rip the audio from the third one and try layering the guitar parts? Could be interesting...

To be fair to Robin, it was the second occasion he'd been told he was going to be GN'R's lead guitar player, only to find his position usurped by a third guitarist.
As much as Axl bangs on about the three-guitarist concept, I think it's damaged the band in the long run. People need personalities to latch onto, and having two lead and one rhythm guitarist dilutes things too much (and leaves the band open to snide comments that "it takes two people to replace Slash"). Bluntly, Axl should've kept GN'R as a two-guitar band after Tobias dropped out; Robin and Buckethead sharing guitar duties.

That's damn cool.
I suspect it wouldn't be that hard to remove the big green X, with a bit of video restoration know-how.

Also, I like that the band's guitarist takes the solo spot on Gimme Shelter when fucking Slash is standing right next to him. That takes some balls.

It still baffles me that when Slash recorded his solo album he had, at various points, Izzy Stradlin and Fergie in the studio and never thought to lay down a cover of Gimme Shelter.

Looks like someone's managed to track down the infamous studio version of
Binge and Grab with vocals:
Anyone know whether it'd be possible to pull the vocals off it and slap 'em on the (musically better) Buckethead version? Or create some sort of mix of the two?

Lol, I think it's mad cool too, but I wouldn't if I were her husband. I'd be pretty pissed at the suggestion of my wife naming our kid after a celebrity she used to have the hots for. And I'm sure my wife would go ape shit with I wanted to name our daughter Pamela Anderson.
These are celebrities. They do things differently. He's probably just grateful the kid isn't called Tranquility or Pinecone.

Is this real?
And if it is, WHEN CAN WE HEAR THE FULL VERSION OF THIS BLOODY SONG?

Well that'll go down well with Slash.
