Wow, he's going to do a solo album? Fucking finally. It's been so frustrating knowing he's capable of stuff like the TIL solo and seeing him relegated to chugging away next to Trent on rhythm tracks. And knowing that the only solo showcase for him is a couple of Chinese Democracy tracks, Ghosts of Mars and a Cee Lo Green song.  Ever since seeing this video:

I've been waiting for him to round up a decent drummer in the Dave Grohl mould and a Robert Plant-esque singer and become, essentially, the new Led Zeppelin.

I find both Bumble and DJ's stuff to be pretty generic – and, in DJ's case, a parody of the material the old band put out. And tonally I'm not mad about them either, there are way too many flourishes in their playing. I just want Bucket and Finck back.

Why would any Bucket fan want him to return to the band? Because he and Axl were bloody brilliant together, and together had the charisma and talent needed to inaugurate a new era of GN'R. That it didn't happen is a tragedy, mostly to do with record company politicking.

With Chinese Democracy behind them, a (reasonably) stable line-up preparing to tour and embark on a new album, and Axl undoubtedly planning to heavily base that album on Buckethead's existing work in the vault... why wouldn't he come back? It's not as if he'd have to go through the hassle of re-recording guitar parts; they're all there already.

From those clips, OMG sounds much like Going Down in that it appears to be a (Bumblefoot?) guitar part plastered over the original studio recording.
