#131 Re: Guns N' Roses » If GNR releases nothing in 2023, is this the end for you? » 127 weeks ago
Agreed completely. The vault for the classic era really doesn't have anything of serious note left to move the needle.
Maybe some unreleased live proshot that they have on film, which means it can be transferred to 4K and look incredible, like the Ritz show from the UYI boxset
Besides that, there really appears to be nothing. If Axl truly is sat on an album + ep's worth of tracks, then Slashifying that is probably where the value is.
They could also try to write and record something new but that won't happen and they may have left it too late if Axl's voice is totally gone.
Slash said last year that after this years Summer tour, he wanted to write and record a new GN’R album. Hopefully that’s still the case, but who the hell knows with this band…

Isn’t that young Harrison Ford just old unused Indy footage from the 80’s? I didn’t think it’s actual digital de-aging
Edit. Never mind. I just watched the video and wow, it is digital de-aging!

Re: Perfect Crime Maybe Axl can't associate with his younger self or that time in the band. Perhaps it's too cringeworthy for him to sanction
And if that’s the case, what a shame that footage will lost to history.
Another case of missed opportunity.
But that’s the running theme with this band isn’t it?
#134 Re: Guns N' Roses » How do you feel about CD potentially being the last GNR album? » 127 weeks ago
Tommy had some things to say about what probably lead to the reunion happening, as well as there being a lot of unreleased songs, some with vocals, some without, as well as leftovers from the original band.
Nothing new, but still interesting

Arguably velvet revolver did A better job of finding a mor modern gnr sound
Yep, especially the first album. Contraband has aged much much better than CD has.
I can still put it on and listen from start to finish and thoroughly enjoy it all of it, even the lesser songs.
While CD certainly has its moments as an album, the lows on there are pretty bad and I find it difficult to listen all the way through these days.

Can’t make this stuff up: Duff’s wife just said on their SXM show they are going to be playing Anything Goes on the upcoming tour.
And there you have it, that is what will constitute this tour being “new” and “different” lol
#137 Re: The Sunset Strip » Josh Freese new drummer of Foo Fighters » 128 weeks ago
The way they introduce him as the drummer at the start of that video is pretty funny
But man, as soon as they kick into their first song, you just know they made the right choice. Josh is a monster drummer who will compliment them so well, and already does so from that rehearsal footage alone.
I’m really happy they went with him.

A couple years back Slash said they were going to release a bunch of singles and eventually cobble them together into an album. This is looking increasingly unlikely with Slash alluding to only 4 more songs being done. Slash says he hopes for GNR to record a brand new full length album after this tour, but with them not even writing a single note of new music since the reunion began this seems even more unlikely. So, if all we get is a few more singles and that's it, how do you feel about CD being the last studio album released under the GNR name?
I don’t think “not even writing a single note” is true for any of them but Axl. Slash has said several times in interviews that he had stuff specifically written for SMKC and for GN’R.
But as long as Axl is at the helm, it will probably stay that way unfortunately.
I think it would be a real shame if CD is the last album under the GN’R banner. It has its moments, but will never be considered a true GN’R album. I hope they can get it together to get at least one album out with the NITL lineup.

I just find it bizarre that the greatest rock n roll band of, dare I say, our generation, can’t get it together to write, record and release a new album. Slash is probably the greatest guitarist of our generation too, and Axl was probably the greatest vocalist in his time too.
But yet we’re reduced to trolling forums and trying to bargain with hoarders for new music from this band.
GN’R aren’t some second rate, cult band, that only appealed to a handful of people, they were THE greatest rock n roll band ever. And being the greatest, and even they can’t get their shit together? It just seems ridiculous.
Not just ridiculous, but a massive waste of all that talent.

I still rate Beautiful Disease as one of the best solo albums by any of them, and that bizarrely still remains unreleased.
I’m surprised with all the millions they’ve been raking in these last 6-7 years, that he didn’t buy the rights back to give it a proper release it deserves.
