I hardly think Axl did this to help his career. I think he did this to help out his friend and have fun doing what he does best. maybe it was also a way for him to get SOME kind of music out to his fans right now since theres obviously a hold up with the next guns album?
I bet anything that the only hold up at this point is Axl's inability to finish this album.
We can go on for the next 10 years blaming legalities, but the truth of the matter is that's just an excuse to cover Axl's never ending delays. I honestly don't think that Slash, Duff, Bucket, Tobias, whoever, give a shit enough to try and prevent this album from being released because of royalties or contract issues. :rolleyes:
And if you want to believe the hold up is the way of distributing the album, here's an idea.... how about distributing it the same way every other album has ever been released. I mean, the world is by no means going to stop regardless of the way they promote this album.
These are all just excuses and they can be played on forever and ever if you let them. If you just look at this situation rationally, it's not hard to see what the real "hold up" is.

BBA did you say you like early Skid Row?
Cos i can get why you don't like these new Baz songs if your not a fan of the style at all. But if you like Slave to the Grind then i can't see how these differ all that much? No offence...just interested....
Yeah, I like early Skid Row alot.
I just don't think Baz releasing songs that sound like they're 20 years old is that impressive. I mean, I'm not a diehard VR fan, but I think their music sounds much fresher and more relevant than anything that I've heard from Baz so far.
Back In the Saddle - really disappointing. I think they could have done more to make this song fresh in 2007. To me, it's almost as if it was thrown together in one afternoon. Cool intro but the rest is just really disappointing.
Bitchslap - Great song if it was 1988.
Stuck Inside - One of the worst chorses I have ever heard. Axl's vocals sound good but it still doesn't prevent this song from sucking.
I don't know, I just don't think Axl doing guest vocals on an album like this is going to do anything for his career. And honestly, I think alot of people are trying to act like these songs are better than they are just because Axl has vocals on some of these songs.

Surely this will all be done soon. Like if Axl really has that many songs in development, sooner or latter everything has to be straightened out and they release at least something. It will happen...surely...it has to right?
No, I don't necessarily think so.
I think the whole legal thing is absolute bullshit and just another excuse for Axl not putting the album out.
Baz is a has been and by constantly mentioning Chinese D it's giving him face time with the media. I don't believe for a second that it's legalities still preventing this album from coming out. I definitely believe Axl Rose is the only person holding up progress at this point. I don't care what anybody says.
I don't think we can believe anything Baz has to say regarding this album either. The songs that we've heard from him so far prove that his music is unable to speak for itself, so he'll do whatever it takes to try and persuade people to buy his album. And let's face it, the only thing he has going for him is Axl being on his album.

I'm really disappointed in all the new Baz songs I've heard so far.
Being a big Skid Row fan back in the day, I was really hoping for more.
So far I think Baz's songs are making Libertad look like gold.

Baz just said it again on radio in Philly....said the business side of things is holding things up....said he heard 4 albums worth of material. I now think Axl is using Bach as a promo guy...maybe he is trying to get the fan base riled up to put pressure on the record company....for negotiation purposes etc. Who knows but he is blabbing up a storm for some reason on big radio stations.:haha:
I think Baz would lie through his teeth if that's what Axl wanted him to do.
How long is the "business side of things" going to be used as an excuse. I personally think the only hold-up at this point is Axl himself.
Baz's whole promotional campaign for his new album so far has been that Axl sings on it.
I don't know about you guys, but that seems pretty weak to me.

I agree that Stinson and Finck have remained the 2 constants for this era, just as Slash and Duff were in the original band, but I don't think Dizzy's presence has made much of a difference in the past or present. Axl could do what he does. So could Pittman, and probably even better.
I think Dizzy could be gone tomorrow and it would honestly make little to no difference at all.

When I said that the demos weren't "masterpieces", that wasn't me trying to put the songs down. I like them, and I agree that Blues, TWAT, and CITR could have been songs on the Illusion albums. I wouldn't put Better or Madagascar into that same high category though.
I believe he probably has alot of music, how good it is, and whether he'll ever release it, is another story. I agree with Pride&Glory that the songs will have to be a few notches above the demos that we already have to be able to be able to justify the amount of time it's taken and the fact that Slash isn't on the album.
I hope that he does have a few great albums, I certainly wouldn't mind giving them a listen.

He may have enough material for 4 separate albums, but what I want to know is how good is the material that he has. None of the demos that I have heard so far suggests that this album will be a masterpiece. I still say he never releases the album. At least with this lineup.
I think he knows that he's waited entirely too long for this album to ever have a fair chance with the media/critics. Unless it is truly the best rock album ever, he will be slammed.
