this is so not true with axl
he was in hiding for like ever with breif appearances in 1999 and 2002
Yeah, that's the irony. Glad you dug the quote though, I always get a kick out of it. Reynolds-style
#1242 Re: Guns N' Roses » Shadows Fall Vocalist comments on Axl » 910 weeks ago
Axl looks great for his age and hasn't gotten any fucking work done. Take a man out of the game in his late 20s and put him back in his mid 40s and guess what ... he might look a little different. Shadows Fall blows dick anyway, and I'm not saying that solely for the Axl comments. I've always hated them. Take that one to heart.
#1243 Re: The Sunset Strip » Favorite foreign films » 911 weeks ago
Most of my favorite movies are "foreign." Dario Argento is my favorite director, so that takes up a whole chunk. I adore Takashi Miike, there's another chunk. I don't even need to list titles. Throw a bunch of old Franco Nero on there, a bunch of giallo. Oldboy, for sure. I don't care how cliche it's become to praise that movie, I saw it when it came out and it was and still is breathtaking. I love Michele Soavi, so movies like Dellamorte Dellamore and The Church (with Asia Argento, the most beautiful woman in the world).

Agreed. Besides, I'd rather have someone like Ice Tea in a Mr. T-esque role than Ice Cube, who admits it's "not a dream come true." C'mon, they need to do this right. I used to love The A-Team.

Before I download this, does it have the Loder interview right after Axl walks offstage. You know, the "How do you rebuild something...." spiel? If not, know where I can find it? I've been looking for ages. Thanks.

I love how I paid to be in their "fan club" and just found out about this today ... the 9th.
#1247 Re: The Sunset Strip » 100 Best Selling Albums Of All Time » 911 weeks ago
I really contest the accuracy of that list. Most sales totals for albums, especially those released before the SoundScan era, are way off. Thriller has reputedly gone 104x platinum, which before you scoff at you should think of Michael Jackson's WORLDWIDE, outside-USA appeal, especially during his heyday. "Only" 54 million doesn't seem so accurate anymore. Appetite's sold well over 30 million worldwide.

#1249 Re: Guns N' Roses » Can interest (in Chinese Democracy) be regained? » 913 weeks ago
I agree. 2006 was the best year to be a GN'R fan since '91. It easily the most interest from the media in the past decade. I believe (eventually) the album will be released and it will be ultimately successful, but 2006 was such an opportune time and such a wasted shot at redemption, it really depresses me. Going into that tour with the (then) new leaks, the fanbase was in a frenzy. Looking at the forums now and what we've dwindled back down to, it's unbelievable all this started up only about two years ago. I think way too much was put into the hype that Baz's album generated, which was no real hype. And that's not dissing Baz or the album, which I'm realling digging, but outside of hardcore Axl faithful and whatever fanbase Baz still has, that album meant nothing to nobody. A sidenote pic of Axl and Baz in the studio in Rolling Stone isn't the kind of media blitz you'd expect from the return of the mighty W. Axl Rose appearing on brand new studio recordings. I see a lot of people at other sites going on and on about how '07 was such a great year for things like the Angel Down songs and I think that's just fucking absurd. More momentum was built with the May leaks than anything this past November. Bottom line, where do we go now?

I give you props for the thread title alone.
