Oh, in the VR video thread? Yeah, I didn't mean to seem like I bashed Ozzy, too. I love Ozzy in fact and I'm glad to see someone else digs Black Rain 9

Having seen all the films on that list, it's just wrong, wrong, wrong. Salo should be tops for its notoriety alone. Still, that it remains tamer than its source material is saying something. Eraserhead is a great movie and I'm a fan of Lynch, but while it's at times unnerving I would never consider it actually disturbing. It's got a real black comedy element to it. Clockwork Orange is a beautiful work of art, like a fine painting, and I love it. It doesn't disturb me, but it's content is notorious and heavy-handed. Last House on the Left gets a bum wrap. It has a legend about it that takes away from the simple enjoyment of watching an amateur, exploitation flick. I've always found it amusing and entertaining, but yes I will concede, not disturbing. I'll continue this in a bit, I have to run....

You know, I accept that apology and I'm sorry if I'm coming across like some punk ass in this thread. Anyway, back to the quote itself I saw the drug comment as being directed more at VR or Scott Weiland, since he also mentions seeing them right before. I mean, to me that would make more sense, even more so since Weiland is more one of his own "contemporaries."

Well, I'm putting that in a script.

Honestly, I hate the idea. This crap about involving the fans that artists and labels somehow think helps record sales, it's been done before to little positive effect. Simply put, no good can come of it. It's devoid of any artistic sentiment on the part of the band, it's just fucking silly. I hated when Korn did it all the way back when for their "Alone I Break" video, their worst and that's saying something because Korn has had some doozies. Ozzy just embarassed himself last year with the (I'm sure) Sharon-headed effort to have fans submit their own edits of the Ozzy band performing in front of green screen. It made the catchy lead single off an otherwise stellar album seem pathetic. I'm sorry if people are gonna come in and do the whole high and mighty "the video doesn't matter it's about the music" speech, but the video does matter. Would you like to see a fan directed GN'R video? Unless you're the fan, probably not. The fact is, these people winning the contests aren't professionals, the videos they deliver are sub-subpar, and it ultimately embarasses the artist and undermines their otherwise creative efforts. It's a trend that has to die.

So you're claiming Manson plageurizes off-the-cuff, sarcastic remarks? That sentiment, if you can call it that, has been shared by many throughout history. I don't think Bill Hicks originated some sort of debate on the topic in 1996.

I enjoyed the pilot. I'm a big fan of the Terminator mythos, although I enjoyed the first movie the most and feel they've stretched it thin with each new entry (that includes T2). Still, it's great sci-fi, b-movie style madness that somehow got elevated to a Blade Runner level of masterpiece for unknown reasons, so I tend not to take these things too seriously. The pilot was a lot of fun. I hope the series can hold out and keep my interest, but for now I know I'll be tuning in (especially since it'll be regularly airing during the now-in-hiatus Heroes timeslot). Great action and production values for TV.
