Just had porridge with honey.  Overdid the honey - not recommended.  sticky and unhappy now.

#112 Re: The Sunset Strip » Lindsey Lohan broke » 922 weeks ago

she'd prob still salvage a career of sorts here in the UK - not because she is especially loved - but because the UK tabloids thrive on this sort of shit.  They can make or break and maintain a person's career for far too long thes days - and they seem particularly keen on focusing on people with limited talents, e.g. Lohan and Pete Doherty

Lohan is news over here because she does drugs, fks around, goes to rehab, has reconcilements with estranged members of her family etc etc - people read about THAT.  They dont give a crap about her movies or "music".  She could come here and do a few interviews that would prob pay her well.  not that I personally think she's worthy of airtime.  And it is very sad that she could be paid good money for that, when every minute detail of her life is reported here anyway.

I would like to see the obsession with Lohan and her ilk die down - its very unhealthy when you realise you know where Britney or Lohan have been driving for a smoothie last week, what "sensational" see-through top they were wearing at the weekend.  B o r i n g.  but the papers here thrive on it.  And they dont seem to be finding her antics dull anytime soon either.  sigh.

#114 Re: The Garden » What are your plans for Halloween? » 922 weeks ago

i love halloween, and the area I now live in is quite family-friendly, so last year - for the first time in my 10 years living in London - we had trick or treaters at the door for 2 hours almost non-stop!  All v polite kids with good costumes - no dickheads thank christ.

so - i reckon that'll happen again and then we'll prob go round to friends house as they have a halloween party every year. Then come home and watch House of 1000 Corpses and Devils rejects - as one movie.  Plan.

#115 Re: The Garden » What are you reading/last book you read? » 922 weeks ago

Am near the end of Darkly Dreaming Dexter by Jeff Lindsay.  I havent seen the series, so cant comment on that - but the book is a good read. It's quite amusing in places - i wouldnt shout to recommend it, but its a good read on the tube to work each day.

I still wish they'd played Interstate love song at one of the several VR gigs I've now been to!  I love that song.  Venue wise - they seem to play perfect-sized venues here in London - they've only ever played at Hammersmith Apollo and Brixton Academy.  Both of these are 4,000 approx and always packed and sweaty!

Though Libertad has not set me on fire - their performance at Download festival this year certainly did.  No mistake - they rocked the fk out. I would recommend anyone who has an inkling to see them, to go when they play in your area.  They drew an enormous crowd at Download, most of whom left swiftly at the end of their set so as to avoid the "headliner" - My Chemical Toilet. uh, romance.
