Beta has replied to a fan on instagram who said they felt "the song is direspectful to fans" that she is "sorry they feel disrespected, that wasn't the intention but this song is part of the CD, enjoy your day"

.... Hard to ever know anything with this band but... did she just confirm a further release of something is coming?

That would be hilarious if Beta accidentally let the cat out of the bag.

What I wonder though is if YCBM would work these days either.

Everyone knows better than everyone else.

Like i'm a fan of wrestling and everyone knows better than Vince Mcmahon.

I'm a fan of starwars and everyone knows better that George Lucas, then they absolutely know better than Disney.

We all know better than the clowns that made all the Alien sequels, especially that hack Sir Ridley Scott who made the last couple.

I realised recently that absolutely everything I am a fan of, has a collection of people online, all of who seem to engage with the product by finding flaws in it, and all of them know better than everyone who actually makes the products.

Some of it is granted of course, and god knows we know that GNR has given us an absolute litany of valid reasons to get frustrated over the years....but at some level I just enjoy stuff for what it is now.

Is Prometheus as good as Aliens? No...but it has some fun parts. Is Absurd a new Jungle? Nup...but it's kinda fun to listen to regardless.

But what i wonder is - if it really was as good - would anyone notice anyway these days? When was the last time anyone of our age actually liked anything as much as we all liked the 80s/90s classics. Like if you think about it - the twat screams may be harder than anything on UYI but they don't count, the Anastasia solos may be better than AFD solos note for note but they won't count either.

I'm not trying to say absurd is the best song ever or anything, but I dont think it even matters if it is, and it's fun for what it is.

To be fair...I think there is a good argument that the great stuff has already been done in the past. Everything happening in recent years is just a rehash of similar ideas in the past. This applies to the movie industry, music industry, and art in general. Keith Richards once said that everything he does with a guitar is stolen from Chuck Berry. Now imagine adding 50 years onto this. Everything today is stolen from Berry, Richards, and others in the past.

The new album IS Chinese Democracy.

But this time it’s a double LP like UYI with the correct artwork, current band re-recording the 2008 version, etc.

I wouldn't mind this...to an extent. There are two aspects of the original Chinese sessions that are untouchable in my book. Buckethead's TWAT solo and Brian May's Catcher solo. I love Slash, but I don't think he would be able to match or beat those 2 solos. Everything else on the album is up for grabs though.

To play devil's advocate.

In our single and streaming culture, and in a world where there may be a limit on how many recordings exist, wouldn't it be better to space the recordings out than release an album?

If he has 1 album still in the tank...they drop it now...then what do they do in 2 years?

Alternatively you could release 1-3 new songs, drop them into the hits tour and boom - fresh show. Tour that globally for 2-3 years, take break...then repeat with another 3 songs.

You could make a 12 song album extend out for 4 or so tour cycles this way.

It would work - like Shadow of Your Love revitalised my NITL interest for a time, and now Absurd and the promise of hardschool has def made this tour back on the menu for most. Then in 2 years they can drop us Atlas and State of Grace or something....

who knows....hopefully they're dropping an album but they really could do anything these days.

Yes, I think releasing a new song every 4-6 weeks is a good way to go. They don't even have to release the album. Release 12 songs over however many months...and then the fans can put it all together as an album/collection.

Either way....I'm glad this is finally happening.

The 20 year old vocals aren't going to be a deal breaker. It's all we were ever going to get.

I much rather have vocals from Axl in his late 30's or early 40's instead of brand new vocals of a damn near 60 year old Axl. But we also might get those geezer Axl vocals at some point, after the Chinese Leftovers album is released and he is willing to move on to something else.

Of course, those are my opinions as to who he wrote the songs about.

Aren't these his only options?

He wrote about very little else.

Kinda sad actually....late 90s-mid 00s such a chaotic period and he has nothing to say about it?

To be fair, he once said that he was going to be a hermit forever until Beta dragged him back into doing music stuff. So he could have just gone down the path of zero music. Maybe that would have been a better result for the fans, who have been tortured by the Axl saga for 20+ years.

Well, I give a shit. It’s too funny that the two songs are both Chinese outtakes written by a whole different band and are about all things from Axl “breakups” which  were so disruptive that one of our favorite bands has only released 16 original songs in 30 years.

I suppose they could come up with brand new material, but that would be ABSURD. 16

Of course, those are my opinions as to who he wrote the songs about.

Who gives a shit. Hard School kicks ass, and will kick even more ass with Slash's contributions to it. Hopefully we get the final version of it pretty soon.

The Stones arent a band and haven't been for 30 years.....it's a massive corporation/brand that employs many people.

Metallica are like this as well.

Same thing with GN'R, AC/DC, and so many others of the Classic Rock time period.
