#1071 Re: Guns N' Roses » About a Reunion... » 734 weeks ago

I want new things and I just dont see Axl and Slash getting back together and doing anything that would be, sound and feel new.
People cOmplain GNR as it is feels like a nostalgia act... What they expect from a reunion?

I really do hope a reunion never happens (except for the rrhof)... If it does and they tour together I'll lose the (ever erupting) respect I still have for Axl.

Merck was around when the renegotiation was occuring, not when it finished.

Actually, I think the renegotiation was one of the main reasons his relationship with Axl erupted.

I don't know if I'm having comprehension disabilites reading the Merck letter or if Ali is reading something completely different, but it's pretty clear there was a renegotiation in place in 2006 and, probably, until the album got to be released.

On a related note, Frank played with Tool on February 1st.

slash wished him a happy birthday via facebook. nice gesture!

Where did he do that? Not on his official Facebook page!

Edit: Nevermind, just saw this comment:
"Duff's bday yesterday, the redhead's today, Happy Birthday fuckers! iiiI; )' "

but TO ME it doesn't seem like he wished Axl personally a happy birthday, more like acknowledging it than anything..

Happy birthday, dude! May all your wishes come true in a very rockin' way!

TWaT is up there for me too. In certain moods, I'd say it's my favorite with a slight edge over Better.

Welcome to the forum!

To me, the intro that's on the album completely KILLS the song for me.

It takes out all the seriousness or any feeling the song might want to pass... It sounds like blinks and blonks from a japanese arcade...

The leak was so much better for me because it didn't have those funny noises on the intro..

For no reason whatsoever I voted "Tours and releases an album in 2012"

Same here. I really think that the record company will ride the wave of the RRHOF and release something, throw a bone and see if it sticks.. If not, poor Axl, he'll have to bend to the bad company men.

I'd say he provided string arrangements, kinda like Buckmeister did to Chinese Democracy to a song that nobody wants us to know the title.

I missed the /sarcasm tag 16
BUT Robin had some great stuff going there... I really miss his playing style altough I find solos like this pretty annoying...

Yeah, I don't hear it too...
