If timing was their thing, which obviously it’s not, they’d release “Monsters” sometime in the fall. Not that it matters I guess, but I don’t understand why they continue to hold onto that one when most people have heard it and had a widely positive reception. Now you can freely find it on YouTube, etc. They used to pull those videos down but now they don’t seem to care.

June 6th they have a show in Portugal. It could happen. I’d expect a song though and not an album/LP. If Duff is to be believed “Nothing” is next in line.

I just listened to the demo again. It is exactely how i remembered it: complete rubbish. I‘m curious wether this really turned into something listenable or Axl thinks it was already a masterpeace..
There has to be more to it than we heard in that demo. It’s just Axl singing the same two lines repeatedly, no guitars, a drum loop, and some keyboard. I’d be interested to see what it became because the demo is so basic. Admittedly this is probably the one demo with lyrics that I quickly forgot about so I can’t say I have high hopes for it, but it has to have grown from what we’ve heard.

Clearer view here with titles de-coded. If they’re correct, Tell No Lies. It does kind of look like Tell Me Lies though. Can’t really see them covering that song unless they change it up quite a bit. That song is actually called “Little Lies” though so might be just a coincidence.
I like seeing Breakdown, but no Monsters?

I think that pretty much goes for most every country song. Simple life experiences and pleasures. Guy met a girl who was into GNR late night at a bar and they lived happily ever after.

Not sure if this deserves a new topic or belongs here since it’s a song from another artist. I’m not a fan of country music but this one is about meeting a girl who’s crazy about GNR. No mention of Chinese Democracy or though.
I think we need a part 2.

Interesting, I figured there had to be more to the story. Maybe Duff just never felt in sync with Frank but tried to work through that and it finally got to a point where he felt it wasn’t going to happen and a change was needed. Would make sense that it’s “his drummer” who’s taking over too.

So it doesn’t sound like it was really up to Frank. That’s what I figured. It still seems like an odd decision after 19 years. I mean if he’s not the man for the job, why did he last so long? He’s even been playing with Slash & Duff for almost a decade now. Are they just now realizing the chemistry isn’t there? I feel bad for Frank in that sense. Seems like it was a surprise to him and he was preparing for the tour.

Kind of a weird situation but that’s par for the course with this band. Not that it really matters but he either came to this decision pretty recently, he was thinking about it but just not speaking about it publicly, or the band felt that it was time for a new drummer all of a sudden.
I mean who knows what really goes on behind closed doors. Could be a lot of legitimate stuff we’re not privy to. Just odd timing and out of the blue. Kind of like when they got rid of Pittman, but that didn’t seem as amicable.

Weird. I know nothing about this guy other than he’s played with Duff in Loaded but it doesn’t seem like a big name add that you’d push Frank aside for, so maybe Frank really did want to move on.
