I guess it was just too early, Nothin’ is now #1 on the iTunes Rock chart & Atlas is #2. They’re all the way up to #5 & 6 on the overall chart. Initial buzz is there, but it won’t last when they do nothing with it.
That's amazing and you're right...they'll sink like a lead balloon because there's any follow through.
Look what happened with Perhaps. It was actually getting some attention that first day or two and then....boom...it was over.
The slide has begun. Nothin’ is #7 now & Atlas 10. They peaked at 3 & 5. Still solid, but there’s always momentum when they release these songs & they do nothing with it.

Update, Nothin’ jumped up past All I Want for Christmas is You to get to #3 and Atlas is at #5. Interesting that Nothin’ is getting more love than Atlas. I wouldn’t have guessed that prior to hearing Nothin’ in full. Definitely agree though. Song is really growing on me. Doesn’t hurt that they were somehow able to keep that one under wraps all these years for the most part.

I’ve bought all 6 new song on iTunes but I haven’t bothered with any of these physical releases. I’m happy to fork over $15 for a full length CD or whatever they cost these days. But I’m not buying all these random packaged releases. To each their own though, there must be a market for them. I’m old school and to be honest I wouldn’t even buy the individual songs if I had any faith in them releasing an album. That ship called Faith sailed away long ago though.

Whatever it is, it works for Axl. He's still alive and he seems to trust them. And he seems happy.
And they've got Universal and Livenation around them to guide them through the mechanics of today's musical landscape.
Everyone is flawed at the end of the day,
I agree. TB gets a lot of hate, and I totally get it, but I do think they’ve kept Axl sane over the years and in the business. Granted they let him work at his own pace, and don’t seem to push him in any real way but he had lots of issues with managers before they took over and he was obviously fed up with the industry.
Who knows how much of it is incompetence on the part of TB or if it’s more Axl only wanting to do so much. I mean they had a damn drone light show to announce the tour in LA. Was that necessary? It’s like they want to do things but certainly not to the level of most bands their stature. Is that their fault or are they doing what they know they can get away with?
And by the way, I am really digging Slash’s work on Nothin’. Seems like a song Axl could pull off live too, until he gets to the high parts. Sounds great in studio, we’ll see in a live setting.

I’m in the camp that likes Nothin’ more than Atlas. Pleasantly surprised with how it turned out. The first song in a long time that we haven’t had much to go off when listening to the Final Cut, so maybe that was a factor. I don’t think Atlas is bad, but the lack of freshness probably contributed.

I’ll never pass up new songs but what the hell kind of timing is this release? Taking advantage of the Holiday music buying crowd? Simply to go along with the tour announcement and tickets going on sale? Doesn’t it make more sense to release songs closer to the start of the tour? Ultimately it doesn’t matter because the songs will come out and the band/mainly Axl won’t do anything with them. Unless things are different now? Nah, can’t be.

I’m a pats fan and watching Drake Maye throw the ball is eye popping. He alone is the reason they are having success (also they have a dogshit schedule).
Maye has been fantastic the last 4 weeks. He was good the first few weeks but too many turnovers. He’s played mistake free since then. Needs to stay out of harm’s way though when scrambling out of the pocket.
They have played a really easy schedule. Thing is though, it doesn’t really get much tougher the rest of the way. They only have 3 games remaining against teams that currently have a winning record (Falcons, Bucs, Bills). They do face the Ravens, Bengals, and Giants who I guess aren’t pushovers but they could go 3-3 or better in those 6 games. It’s all about health and taking care of the football though. They need to tighten up their pass defense too. They’ve been making bad QBs look better than they are for stretches this year.

They have songs for an album, sure.
Absurd
Hardskool
Perhaps
The General
Nothing
Atlas ShruggedAnd maybe Monsters. Two up-tempo hard rock songs on a GnR album (being Absurd and Hardskool)? Hopefully the other 3-4 songs would be real GnR rock but it’s obvious that’s not happening
I just listened to Slash with Eddie Trunk and he did confirm they’ll be playing US dates in 2026 and there should be an official announcement soon. He said he has the next Conspirators record is done but they’re not releasing it until 2027 because that’s the next time he has free to tour around it, etc. Crazy, but at least there is a definitive plan that you can actually count on.
It seemed like there was probably some sort of an agreement to not talk about new GNR music because Eddie never brought it up despite going over everything else Slash is working on. He did ask him what his favorite songs are that Guns has been playing though and he mentioned the Thin Lizzo cover they’re playing. He then mentioned that there were two new songs, but they haven’t been released yet and then he mentioned “The General” and he said he really enjoys opening with WTTJ again. So I couldn’t tell if he was talking about two new songs they haven’t played yet or if “The General” was one of those new songs that haven’t been released on a normal scale? I’m guessing the former though. Maybe “Nothing” and “Atlas”. Who knows though. He did follow it up by saying once anything is official he’ll talk about it, so same old line.
What the hell happened to “Monsters”? Makes no sense that leaked and then it gets totally ignored.

Gotta say, Axl was on better form at Firenze Rocks than I've seen him in a while.
He does seem to be rounding into form for sure. Sounding better with each show. And he does certainly look more fit & in shape than in previous years. It would be a good time to strike while the iron is hot. But we know how that goes
