Still hoping for Breakdown at some point. Though Axl would undoubtedly sound abominable on it.

Have we gotten a glimpse of the alt list yet?

I wouldn't put the blame on all of them. Whatever you think of SMKC, Slash is still a very prolific songwriter, and Duff already wrote a new song for GNR a few years back. It's one guy that's incapable of doing anything, for whatever reason.

If they do release the 6 songs as a 'package', surely Monsters gets an official release and hopefully studio versions of the Seeker and Wichita. How difficult would it be for them to record those 2 covers? A weekends work tops. Would be nice to have studio versions of those 2. That could almost pass as an album. Call it "Not in this lifetime" have it mastered evenly (some songs remixed hopefully) and there's the GN'R reunion album. Children of the Revolution makes it 10 songs.

While it would technically be a weekends work, we saw how sensitive Axl is about releasing recorded stuff these days with the Schenker  album. He did multiple takes and still would only allow 1 out of 3 songs he featured on to be released, and to be frank I understand. There were so many layers placed over his voice, and you can still hear how weak it was underneath.

If Axl is going to write new lyrics, it's going to be on top of new Slash instrumentals, not unused stuff from Bucket & Finck. Even he isn't enough of an egotistical dickwad to suggest such a thing.

No mention that the music videos for these songs are supposed to appear next month.

Seems that was a mistranslation of the original announcement, according to what I read on Mygnr. No music videos coming.

Best case scenario is there's some new info on unreleased songs like Tonto & Oklahoma, but not getting my hopes up.

Ides of March is Circus Maximus

'Ides of March' was a working title of one of the songs that came from a loop name that Dizzy came up with: I think they kept the name, but it's been years so I'm sure everything has changed by now." (Dave Dominguez, Sp1at, 02/07/05)

To quote Wasted regarding circus maximus"Would you say this has a Dizzy Loop on it?"

Yeah .. I doubt Ides of March is Nothing. Seems like a huge stretch.

On the other hand, they seemed to have a fetish for constantly changing working titles...and if there was a brief attempt at sticking to a particular theme, it's possible Ides and Circus were two different songs.

How the hell does Oklahoma morph into Berlin? What's the connection?

Look at Seven.... God only knows what that really is. Devious Bastards has a clip of the Mercury 7 astronauts.

Coincidence?  Did they scrap this song.... obviously a Bucket song ...but reuse that clip for Seven?

There's very little rhyme or reason to any of it unfortunately.

I know one thing.....the CD leftovers and the Village leaks show us that just because a song title appears to be epic doesn't make it so...even if described as such eons ago. A song that might have been epic couldn't be because it was simply abandoned/relegated to the "B list".

Did you ever have any luck locating that 2001 setlist pic with Oklahoma as an alt for Riad? Some on Mygnr have questioned its legitimacy. Hard to have a debate either way with the pic seemingly lost media at this point.

Circus Maximus has never been confirmed to be connected to Ides Of March and should not be postulated as such. It's just a theory.
