Chase deliberately made the series darker as it went on as he was annoyed that people were sympathizing with Tony and the other mobsters too much.

I disagree. I loved the first three episodes of S6, I thought the Kevin Finnerty saga was brilliant. The psychological aspect was always my favorite part of The Sopranos.

It may sound like the plot of a new Alien film, but NASA has found a mutant bacteria thriving in space.

Researchers discovered 13 strains of the bacteria, called Enterobacter bugandensis that is linked to blood infections on the International Space Station (ISS), which could compromise the health of astronauts on board.

The extreme environment on the ISS like higher carbon dioxide levels forced the bacteria to mutate, and when exposed to microgravity, the bacteria can acquire a resistance to antibiotics.

While this is bacteria that humans brought with them to space that then changed, rather than a bacteria that originated in space, I think it's interesting to note that this is probably the most dangerous thing about space travel. We talk about finding life on other planets or moons, but we don't talk enough about the dangers that different types of life could pose to humans. For all we know some tiny microbe introduced to earth by latching onto an astronaut could cause a Captain Trips type outbreak and kill us all. Even without space this a huge danger for us in the future, with the ice caps melting and life frozen for hundreds of thousands and even millions of years waking up again, stuff that humans along with most life on earth has never been exposed to: https://theconversation.com/ancient-pat … als-209795

I'm not sure he ever actually laid down vocals on Oklahoma. Yes they were going to play it at HOB 2001 but as far as we know the "bitch like you" version of Silkworms from 2001 never received a studio recording, so it's possible it was never actually completed.

It’s literally insane….on one hand they won’t acknowledge Chinese, yet the only thing they release are Chinese songs and every rock critic and fan of rock and roll knows it!

I’m with Age, it’s way more embarrassing not to create something new. However Ice, they have no shame. The first single from the reunion was a Hollywood Rose song!!!!!

Last I checked Duff and Slash weren’t in Hollywood Rose either!

I also find it amusing that 3/5 of the singles they have released since the reunion (Shadow/Hard Skool/Perhaps) were co-written by Tobias, considering Slash not wanting to work with him was the main catalyst for the band breaking up in the first place.

This is all the confirmation I need that my theory was on the right track.

2024 a silent year followed by a 2025-27 anniversary/AFD anniversary/farewell tour.

I disagree about pretending CD never existed. In Axl's 2016 interview he said he enjoys performing the CD songs the most. At the last show in 2017 they played 8 CD songs, and with SOD being played intermittently now that's 9/14 songs total from the album they've played. Not to mention there are 3 CD songs (from the album, not live versions from NITL) included in the 2020 GNR pinball machine. If there was ever a place to ignore CD that would have been in it, since it's Slash's baby. Hardly forgotten.

Go to the official site and try to buy anything related to CD or new GNR. After that, scroll through their social media channels for new GNR.

You won't find anything.

They can play a few songs live til the cows come home or throw on some pinball machine no one will buy or play but it doesn't change the fact this era isn't being acknowledged or celebrated.

Hell...they initially tried to market Perhaps as a brand new song from Axl, Slash, and Duff.

IMO trying to market Perhaps as new has less to do with trying to bury the CD era and more about trying to hide the embarrassing fact they have not been able to write new music. If Perhaps was an unreleased song from 1993 they would have probably tried the same thing.

According to Duff….a little disappointed we couldn’t squeeze out a few more singles…Monsters and Atlas Shrugged? Those are the last 2 which sound completed from the CD sessions. I am sure there are more but those 2 are firmly documented.

Has anyone noticed they don’t sell Chinese on their official site but they sell that half assed Appetite for Democracy video?

Here is the Duff interview:

And Slash said that he is going to record a new SMKC album in the fall of 2024:

So, the schedule seems to be:

January-April 2024: SMKC tour in support of "4".

Summer 2024 (?): Slash solo album release and tour / Possibly new solo album/EP by Duff.

Fall 2024: Duff solo tour / Recording of next SMKC album.

2025: Release and tour (?) in support of new SMKC / GN'R tour (?)

Well it’s all up to interpretation, and like we said it’s probably about a lot of people, but I don’t think Axl would be talking about Slash like…

“What I thought was beautiful don't live inside of you anymore”

I don't interpret "beautiful" as romantic in this context.
