He reminds me of those crappy qb who get carried by the defense/st and the first thing people mention is the w-l record. Grossman on the Bears (esp the Super Bowl year ) and Vince Young comes to mind.

If Kyle Orton starts the Super Bowl....Bears win.
Grossman was a mistake....a collosal one.
Bears should've went to and won the prior Super Bowl as well. For a two year period...that team was red hot with nothing to show for it.
Greatest defense to never win a Super Bowl.
Flutie....yeah his career started off on the wrong track and could never fully recover.
Reminds me ....on NFL2k5 (or 4) you could have Flutie start for the Patriots and go undefeated. Amazing game.... shameful how they allowed Madden to have the exclusive rights.
On this , a couple of things I remember . This was like prime Devin Hester . He just returned those damn kicks like crazy and was on another level . That and their defense scored a ton .
The other guy I remembered (and I think he should have gotten a little more due ) was Thomas Jones , the Rb. He washed out as a high pick in AZ. But man he was great with the Bears . Had 1000 yds while he was splitting time with Benson. They gave Jones the carries when the games were competitive and in doubt . Benson was just a blow out the clock and short yardage guy . He eventually became an effective RB with the Bengals later on.
yeah the qb thing will always sting with those Bears teams . All you needed was a guy that knew how to properly manage the game and convert some 3rd down throws and not fuck it up like Grossman. You needed to avoid turnovers and get some points on offense in the passing game to supplement the D/ST and the running game . Orton was fine when he started those games with Grossman out.

Speaking of which… the Rams are in deep fucking shit with Adams out for most of the year and they put two other DL on IR and Myles Garrett is still injured. Oh, for all the acclaim McVay gets he blew another game on coaching management. Idiots scored too early . Read this somewhere else but the defensive influenced HC understand
this point and coach that part way better . Basically you want to wait till the last second to score and bleed out most of the clock and not give the opponent a chance . Rams controlled the clock yet they left 40+ secs on the clock for ARZ to beat them.
Is it me or is there a stark division between the good teams and the bad ones ? There are a lot of sorry ones this season . At least 14 I saw or counted .
Idk about the Texans . The problem is that they are behind a bunch of teams and the entire AFC North is competitive. Their best bet is for that division to beat each other up and they feast . Also Denver has to go inthe toilet,
Think NE has a leg up because they play the Dolphins and Jets. That means that one more spot probably goes to the AFC north runner up . I’m not totally sold on PIT because if Rodgers shows his age later it’s not gonna end well.
Jackson needs to come back quickly . They can’t afford to have Huntley play vs CIN , gotta match points.
Easy as hell in the NFC. NFC north and whether or not Seattle can start playing better . The east and south are one team rep in the playoffs . Guess NYG could sneak in there . That tie helps them a little.

The Cowboys are a dumpster fire. That game was AWFUL. Not a single positive thing happened in the game. How in the hell is Schottenheimer even a coach with his dad no longer around?!?
I really can't stand the smiling and laughing on the sidelines when you're losing. The players don't care...only there for a paycheck.
This team will never win anything...not even the division when it's as weak as it is. The team simply doesn't care.
Teams like this really make you wish to see one of the old iconic coaches come in and clean house.
Imagine a Parcells, Walsh, Gibbs, Ditka, etc taking this team over.
In the early 80s, Parcells had to cut almost half the roster to build them into an elite team.
Ditka did pretty much the same thing. When he was hired, he told the team most of them wouldn't even be there when they win a Super Bowl. He was right.
The league is in desperate need of this style of leadership.
It was an insanely bad performance all around . Look the offense here is supposedly to do the heavy lifting here , but Prescott acted like he had never seen a blitz before from the Packers . I’m not sure what this tells me about GB. I was like maybe their defense is better than I thought but then TB looked good against Dallas too. This week vs the Lions will tells us more.
Dallas defense was awful against 3rd down too. That isn’t getting any better they can’t rush the passer from the edges .
Even with all that said , the incredible part: they can still win the damn division because the schedule is easy and the division is the drizzling shits.
This should’ve been set up for WSH to take advantage but they are being lead by dumbass inc. in Daniels and Quinn . Defense sucks but it held SF and gave them two chances to win . In excusable last two plays by Daniels again. They are toast .
PHI is toast too . Can’t see them coming back from the Hurts injury news

I was right about the Browns and Texans wins .
Didn’t think NYG would drop this one . But this is just begging for one of DAL or WSH to get in there to steal the division.
Look at DAL upcoming schedule after this one :
@PHI, vs ARZ, @IND, probable loss vs SF,
Vs TEN, vs PHI, and then another game against a not as good this year Seattle team .
I’m glad the Titans got the win . No one is probably catching MIA for that #1 pick most likely.

Some big games this week....
Bears vs Falcons
Huge for both. Bears have to get things back on track with Caleb returning and the Falcons...a good team with a shitty record...know they need to get back in it with only the Panthers as their rival this season.
Jaguars vs Texans
HUGE for the Texans. 1-4 and if they're going to repeat last season, the run has to start now. It's also a divisional matchup.
If Jags really want the #1 spot in the playoffs this season, gotta keep chugging along now that KC is back. Same with Buffalo....you can only lose a couple more games if you're hoping for home field.
Ravens vs Browns
First time in eons this divisional matchup actually means something for both teams. It's surreal seeing the Browns anywhere but the division cellar. That's probably where they'll wind up but they've got a shot for the time being.
Rams vs Cardinals
HUGE for the Rams. If they lose.... they'll be 2-4.
Bills vs Raiders
This could easily be a playoff matchup. Raiders don't have much of a cushion in this division. Chiefs will take the division but Broncos and Raiders will battle for a wild card slot. Imagine if the Chargers had been good this year...
Cowboys vs Packers
A must win for Dallas. As we talked about above, the Giants are being handed that division on a silver platter. It's now or never to get back in it. Redskins pretty much guaranteed to get blown out by the 49ers and that Eagles team is a cluster fuck that'll probably lose to the Panthers.
With the Vikings in full control of the division, Green Bay battling it out with Chicago and Detroit for a wild card.
Yeah Hurts and the blood clots is scary shit. I remember back in the days I watched college football, Nebraska QB Tommy Frazier had issues with blood clots. It's why no NFL team drafted him.

Hou v Jax is hard to predict . It’s a division game and Houston has underachieved . But Jax is a top team. I’m guessing HOU pulls off a close win.
Browns and Ravens . I’m gonna pick the division upset again . Browns play the Ravens tough and they aren’t a total pushover this year . Monken also knows aspects of the Ravens offense since he was OC
Rams with an easy win . Cards are a bottom five team .
I’ll pick an upset here only because Buffalo might have a letdown game. The WC contenders are kind of known now and LV can’t afford to drop many .
I think GB wins the Micah Parsons bowl. Both teams can’t afford a loss. DAL seems to be more in chaos. The DC already is getting a babysitter already since they hired Mike Pettine as an assistant of some sort.
I remember Frazier and Charlie Ward too. Those guys and Flutie came in at the wrong time . They would be given a real chance at qb .

That was a brutal game yesterday. When you allow 40 yards in the second half as a defense you should win . Those two INT by Darnold were killer . He’s morphing back into the Jets guy. That’s kind of another reason why the “redemption qb on their 2nd -3rd team” has gotten major risk. They either fall back into bad habits or they have way less high level years than someone drafted and developed . But what can you do , entire team revolves around a qb.
Nix is a joke at this point . I had a laugh when he screwed up the clock by throwing it incomplete instead of just getting tackled and forcing Seattle to use the last time out . Yeah I agree...but the Falcons do have a small chance at the crown. If it goes to the wire...Falcons last 3 games are against their division.

Dallas is just lost. They really need a proper coaching staff. I think the team is toast as long as Jerry Jones is alive...he's just not willing to give up any control.
NFC North is brutal this year w/MIN , CHI and GB . They have to deal with the NFC west too. Some deserving team is getting left out.
Yeah this is definitely one of those seasons where a couple teams everyone expects to get in are going to be sitting at home watching the playoffs.
The NFC East is weak this year. One team will go to the playoffs.
NFC South is a battle between Carolina and Atlanta....with Atlanta having a small chance at a wild card.
That leaves 4 or 5 spots available for the West and North.

Titans are the worst team to watch.
I watched the highlights of the Houston game. I had to watch the condensed game (condensed down to 45 minutes) because a normal highlight video shows almost nothing of the Titans offense. Crazy.
Yeah....it's bad. It might be the worst O line in the league. There was a play where a safety is blitzing Cam and his line doesn't even acknowledge it even though he's literally running straight at him.
Cam clearly has difficulty reading defenses...or his coach/coordinator does. There was a play where there's a hole so big, Helen Keller could fly a B-52 through it...but he doesn't take off. Lamar or Patrick probably get 30 yards out of that play....Titans get an incompletion.
They really do have a shot at 0-17.
This team is so bad....IF they do get the #1 pick, I think they should trade it for a bunch of picks spread out over 2 years and work on a complete rebuild.
Don't draft Arch or whoever the fuck with the pick...it won't make a bit of difference.
The fact that these two teams HATE each other adds to it.
This is one of the main things I miss about football...when so many teams/players/coaches hated each other. The game lost something when this changed.
I’ll go over the Titans stuff here quickly . The OL is bad at LT and interior OL. They were starting a 3rd stringer at RG due to injury . They are a bad OL (bottom 3rd) but that was a bad matchup vs HOU top level defense . Not arguing that they are great but just not the world’s worst OL.
Cam Ward is just bad. That was a typical game where he just doesn’t throw to ball to open or just sprays it everywhere in accurately. You know how Jackson and Allen do that thing where they evade pressure and fling it downfield to an open wr. Ward’s variation is he runs around and throws it to the closest short WR for a two yard gain.
What they should do with that #1 pick is what they should have done last time : trade that fucker down and get multiple picks. Then take the best available LT or DE. Team needs a lot of fucking help
As far as the qb shit, he’ll probably be kept . But they are nuts if they don’t bring in a vet qb. I’ve seen this movie before he’ll get benched in 2027 or before . Trubisky is on their roster as their backup. It’ll be insane if he gets the redemption qb story like Darnold.

Other than the Bengals getting in, the AFC is pretty predictable.
The NFC is bat shit crazy with a bracket that just begs for an upset or two.
If Chicago walked out of Frisco with the upset, this is how you wind up with a team like the Panthers or Giants going to the Superbowl.
Bears obviously have a legit shot...I'm just pointing out how unpredictable things can get when certain teams don't get in....Rams, Seahawks, Eagles....a wacky team gets home field advantage while the #2 gets the toughest opponent....and an entire division (North) is in the playoffs.
Hurts is out with a blood clot. It’s too bad WSH blew that game because they would have had a chance to contend with the Giants . You’re basically depending on the Cowboys defense getting better . Giants have a clear lane to the division title now even with Jameis Winston.
I think one of Det/GB/CHI gets bumped just cause the division is brutal . Seattle probably noses in there but those Sea-Rams division games could make the difference .
I generally don’t trust teams with kicking issues in the season to go far and that’s something else for the Rams. They really should have won that MNF game . But something that will never change through time , NFL coaches counting on a shaky kicker making a sub 50 GW fg. Unless, you have a top 10 kicker you gotta get the first down and shorten the kick.
The AFC looks like the divisional playoffs is where the great games are . Denver is a fraud. CIN can’t win tough games (at least not to this pt so far). NE probably getting ouclassed.

Yes, but then where are all these superior songs. You would think they would be a priority for the stuff Slash and Duff worked on. The only songs I would call A-list from those are Hard School and the General. Stuff like Perhaps and Atlas feel more like b or c material. Scraping the bottom of the barrel type stuff.
The only outlier is Monsters.
If time has taught us anything with that saga, it’s that they were blowing smoke with all that stuff about 2 albums worth of stuff , unreleased big guns etc
The best songs made the album . The rest are b sides at best .
I barely listen to the reheated leftovers anymore . Once you get past the novelty of Slash and Duff being on them , they just aren’t very good or catchy .

Dear mother of God...the Chargers are so inept. It's an issue of top to bottom incompetence. No reason on Earth for Harbaugh to waste both their challenges in the first half.

Steelers throttle the Colts. I knew that Colts team last year was a one year wonder.
